Pokemon Legends: Arceustook fans of the series by storm with its unique gameplay loop, open-world elements, and the way players can interact with Pokemon. There is no doubt thatPokemon Legends: Arceusrevolutionizes the tested formula of the series, and seeing how well the game was received it’s likely that players will see more of this style in the future. There are rumors aboutPokemon Legends: Arceusgetting DLC, possibly including new Pokemon or areas and endgame content to look forward to after the hype for shiny hunting dies down.
Despite the fact that there are heaps of interesting stories and lore in thePokemonuniverse, Sinnoh (and hence Hisui) was the perfect region for aPokemon Legendsgame because Arceus is a god-like figure that created the know universe. However, another fantastic setting for a similar game is the Unova region fromPokemon BlackandWhite, mainly thanks to two specific elements: the so-called Original Dragon and the Heroes of Truth and Ideals. As far as the story goes in Gen 5, there were once two twins who could not decide whether they should pursue truth or ideals, and they shared a Dragon Pokemon that eventually split into two separate beings: Zekrom and Reshiram.

Possible Hints For a Pokemon Legends Game Set in Unova
The stories of the Original Dragon and the Heroes of Truth and Ideals are key to the main plot ofPokemon BlackandWhite, and the sequels eventually added theories about Kyurem - a thirdDragon Pokemon. Kyurem is said to come from the residual energy from Zekrom and Reshiram’s split into two separate entities. Players can fuse this creature to the mascot ofPokemon BlackandWhite’s sequels, creating either Black Kyurem or White Kyurem, but never unite all three together.
Having aPokemon Legends: Arceus-like game set in Unova’s past and exploring both the legend of the Original Dragon and the Heroes of Truth and Ideals would be interesting. Furthermore,Pokemon Legends: Arceushas several Gen 5 references for players to find, from one of the wardens beingIngo fromPokemon BlackandWhite’s Battle Subwayto a painting of Alder in houses of both the Diamond and Pearl clans. Because Ingo seems to have shown up from a space-time rift like the main character, but with no memory of his past life, he is believed to be a “faller” - someone like Looker, the time-traveling detective with memory issues.
Alder is the biggest mystery though, and it’s possible that the character traveled through time during his endless journeys. On top of that, one of the wardens for the Pearl Clan is part ofPokemon Legends: Arceus' cast of ancestors, in this case, the ancestor ofBlackandWhitegym leader Clay.Whether these are hints about the future of the series or harmless additions to spice Hisui’s lore up remains to be seen, but it’s not impossible that aPokemon Legendsgame set in Unova could be in the works.
Seeing howPokemon DiamondandPearlgot remakes in November2021 beforePokemon Legends: Arceusreleased in January, it would make sense for Gen 5 remakes to follow the same pattern. This should be taken with a grain of salt because it’s pure speculation at this point, but the clues are there, and they could form a pattern if Game Freak holds to its guns. However, Generation 9 is most likely coming earlier than Gen 5 remakes or anotherPokemon Legendsgame, potentially as early as this year.
