During CinemaCon, Paramount announced that the spinoff will be titledA Quiet Place: Day One. The film will be set during the original days of the alien invasion before the world adapted to a world of silence.Pigdirector Michael Sarnoskiwill be helming the spinoff. Sarnoski was brought in to replaceMidnight Specialdirector Jeff Nichols. The synopsis forA Quiet Place: Day Onereveals that the movie will retell the alien creatures' first day of arrival on Earth and the decline of the human race.
People have learned what it takes to survive in a world like this by adjusting to the alien’s enhanced auditory senses. While the behemoths are not able to see their prey, they can easily detect exactly where anything and everything is just off of a tiny sound. The second film teased the first day or point of contact, but the spinoff is set to explore that event in further detail with a new cast of characters.
A Quiet Place Part IImanaged to take in about $297 million at the global box office despite being in the pandemic, while also scoring a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. A third film that will serve as a direct sequel to the first two is also on Paramount’s schedule, but that project is slated to release in 2025.
