While the previously, very musical chapterofAlan Wake 2played out similarly to Initiation 1: Late Night, the same can be said for Initiation 5: Room 665. This chapter follows the flow ofIniation 2: Caseypretty close.Alan Wake 2players will have to investigate various scenes, activate Echos to learn new story threads, and then place them to progress the story.
Fortunately,Initiation 5: Room 665is much less maze-like, and it is easier to follow where to go and what to do. Nevertheless, the hotel can be difficult to navigate as a door can suddenly lead to another floor without any warning. So here is how players can successfully complete this chapter.

Follow the Neon Signs
As this chapter begins, continue following the Mirror Peak Bar signs, as these are the only way to reach the Oceanview Hotel. While there is a spot where players can insert a light from the Angel Lamp, they will want to go down the nearby alley first to find a Word of Power.
Go through the door to return to the Mirror Peak Bar sign. Place a light into the nearby streetlamp to reveal a door for the Mirror Peak Bar. Go through the door to arrive at the top of the nearby roof. Turn left and go down the ladder. Follow this path to reach a light that can be taken by the Angel Lamp. Crawl under the nearby scaffolding to find another ladder.
Further ahead, players will encounter a group of shadows and a few Taken. Deal with them and then use the flashlight to remove the darkness that is blocking the door. Beyond the door, look for a tent made out of cardboard and go through it. Go past the gate and go left toward the stairsto find a save point. Go up the ladder next to the save point and then go up another ladder.
How to Find the Door Code for the Oceanview Hotel
Before doing anything else, go toward the Mirror Peak Bar. Insert a light from the Angel Lamp to open it up. Once inside the bar, remove the light andpick up the shotgun. Several Taken will show up soon after, and the shotgun can easily get rid of them.
The door to the Oceanview Hotel requires a code. The code can be found on the bar menu in the Mirror Peak Bar.The code for the door is 2550, which is how much an Oceanview Cocktail costs, apparently. Type this code into the keypad to gain access to the hotel.
Explore the Oceanview Hotel
Right at the entrance, there is not much for players to find. Keep following the series of hallways to reach a set of double doors. Just up ahead is the door to Room 665, which is where players are trying to go. Unlock the door and go inside.
There is a film projector in this room. Activate it and then approach the screen to triggera live-action cutscene. After the cutscene is over, go outside to the end of the hallway directly in front of Room 665 and then go right onto the balcony. Focus the two points to activate the Echo. Enter the elevator once it opens and go down to the lobby. Before going to the storyboard, enter the check-in booth to activate an Echo.

Find the Murder Site
Go to the Storyboard and place Pre-Show Ritual onto the Entrance Hall scene. Once the scene changes, return to the check-in booth and grab the map on the wall. The Office is a save point, so players may want to make use of it before proceeding. In Room 111, there is a box with supplies in it and there is a toolbox in the bathroom as well. At the north end of the first floor hallway, there is another scene called “Final Scene”.
Place the Pre-Show Ritual story thread onto the scene to make a box appear. Examine it to find a key for Room 104. Go to Room 104 and use the key to get inside. In a bizarre form of dream logic, going into one door of the bathroom of Room 104 and then going out the other takes players to Room 225 where there is another save point.
The bathroom to Room 224 is blocked off by a board, but the board can be destroyed with two shots from the Revolver. Go into the bathroom and look along the wall tofind a Word of Power. In Room 219, there is a light that can be taken with the Angel Lamp. Doing so reveals a door. Go through it to get transported (as the Dark Place appears to operate on dream logic) into a Rehearsal Room scene that is connected to Room 202. Place the Pre-Show Ritual story thread onto this newly discovered scene. This will trigger an Echo that reveals a story thread.
Go to the Ballroom
At this point, the objective updates and players will have to go to the Ballroom to progress the story. Go back through the door that lead to the Rehearsal Room and head out to the second floor hallway. From there, go down towards the Ballroom.
Right inside the Ballroom, there is a save point along with a key for Room 101. Head further into the Ballroom, go back to the Story Board, and place the Haunted story thread onto the scene. Approach the typewriter on the stage to trigger an Echo that unlocks the Devil story thread. Place the Devil story thread into this scene. Deal with the Taken in this room and then head back down to the first floor.
Before proceeding, unlock Room 101. This room contains a video and a suitcase filled with supplies. Go back to the Entrance Hall and use the Devil story thread to open up a path. Go up the stairs and activate the Echo. Keep following the trail of blood to reach a room with another Echo. Players will know they are in the right place when they find a door surrounded by bodies.
Run From the Dark Presence
Just like in an earlier chapter, players have to run awayfrom the Dark Presence. The twist here is that it will eventually, suddenly, teleport right in front of players. Turn around and keep running. Run past several groups of shadows and toward a save point, which is where the Dark Presence gives up the chase.
Proceed through the door ahead and go toward Room 108. Use the Climax story thread to gain access to the next area. Once in the bathroom, interact with the tub to trigger a cutscene. After that, go toward the exit of the hotel and leave. Outside is an Echo that can be activated. Directly ahead is a save room that will allow players to either continue on to the next chapter, or switch over to Saga.
