Something always cooking when it comes toApex Legends, but the past few weeks have been especially busy. Not only was there the launch ofSeason 13 alongside the defensive character Newcastle, butApex Legends Mobilealso fully launched with a unique character of its own. The latter has also gotten some attention as Loba recently joined the mobile game, but it seems it is the base game’s turn.
Developer Respawn Entertainment and Publisher EA have announced a new Collection Event coming toApex Legends, dubbed Awakening, on June 21. Fans familiar with the game should know how Collection Events work now, but in short, alongside some new gameplay elements, there are a plethora of new skins and a new heirloom players can collect.

Specifically, theApex LegendsAwakening Collection Event was announced in a new trailer (as seen below) and features new reward tracks and 24 new cosmetic legendary skins for Horizon, Mad Maggie, Fuse, and More. A new skin for Loba looks like something straight out of a Sci-Fi story, while Seer is getting one that looks a lot like a Green Power Ranger. The big cosmetic reward is anewApex Legendsheirloom for Valkyrie, the Suzaku—an epic spear.
Gameplay-wise, the big changes include the return ofApex Legends’ 9v9 Control Modeon World’s Edge. It’s no secret that Control has been the most popular LTM to arrive in the battle royale game, and its return is no doubt exciting. Furthermore, Olympus will feature Lifeline’s Town Takeover. It’s been a while since a Town Takeover appeared inApex Legends, and this should shake up the Olympus map well.
The exact layout of her Takeover, dubbed Lifeline’s Clinic, remains to be seen, but the trailer does show off a centered apparatus capable of healing players in the center—a much larger version ofLifeline’s D.O.C Heal Drone, it would ultimately seem.
Apex Legendsplayers will be able to check out the event and Control for a couple of weeks, but Lifeline’s Clinic will likely remain a permanent change. It also stands to reason that her clinic—which is inthe eastern section of Olympus—will remain a hot drop for a couple of weeks. Ultimately, it’ll be interesting to see how players react to all of this new content coming toApex Legends.
Apex Legendsis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
