With 28different weapons,Apex Legendshas a gun for seemingly every type of engagement. From long-range fights to close-quarters brawls, there is no shortage of guns to pick from in the loot pool. While many of these weapons are considered viable in a skirmish, the Mozambique shotgun is typically not considered one of them.
As part of the original arsenal of weapons included inApex Legends, the Mozambique is a well-known gunin the battle royale. However, it is memorable for the wrong reasons. This infamous gun is an automatic triple-barrel shotgun pistol. While this might sound impressive, the gun quickly became known for low and inconsistent damage after release. While the shotgun has been buffed over the various seasons of the game, it has remained one of the weakest weapons in the loot pool. Despite this, one fan attempted to prove that the Mozambique could be effective in battle.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as wolfegumbear shared a video from a recent game ofApex Legends. The clip took place onthe World’s Edge mapnear the Fragment West location. The video started with the player camped outside the city limits with the rest of their squad. Using Amped Cover that they had deployed as Rampart, wolfegumbear began taking long-range shots at a player on a distance building. After firing a couple of bullets with their R-301, they switched to a Mozambique shotgun. What happened next was unexpected, to say the least.
After only getting several hits from the extreme distance usingthe precision-based R-301, wolfegumbear likely expected little to happen by shooting at the distant enemies with the Mozambique. However, that wasn’t what took place. After carefully lining up the shot, the player fired one round at the far away building. Suddenly, a notification popped onto the screen. To the shock of wolfegumbear, they had managed to knock the enemy hundreds of meters away with a Mozambique.
This incredible shot from wolfegumbear caught the attention of many members of theApex Legendscommunity on Reddit. With over 2,400 upvotes in less than a day, many were amazed by the player’s luck. In addition, some fans hardly believed that the Mozambique could shoot that distance. “I didn’t think that thing had a range of more than three feet!” one user exclaimed. Others joked that the developers at Respawn Entertainment needed to nerf the shotgun.
It’s exciting to see players continue to come up with impressive highlights inApex Legends. Besides this lucky Mozambique shot, another player captured an unusual encounter aftersticking an enemy Crypto Dronewith an Arc Star. As players continue to play the battle royale in Season 11, it will be interesting to see what other incredible highlights gamers capture on the battlefield.
