But just what is the right weapon to hold on to? That is a question players ask with the introduction of every new season, and withSeason 6players are asking themselves that again. So we’ve put together a list of the top ten guns forApex LegendsSeason 6. For the sake of this list, we aren’t going to be using guns that are only available through supply drops or special needs. You need to be able to pick these up off the ground!
10L-Star
While this used to be a weapon that came in supply drops, it is now found across the different locations onWorld’s End. The L-Star retains many of its qualities. The L-Star uses energy ammo and it doesn’t need to be reloaded, which is great, as long as you’re able to fire in bursts to offset its overheating which happens faster now. With the speed of its shots and lack of reloading, it’s a great option.
9M600 Spitfire
The next weapon on our list is the M600 Spitfire. The Spitfire has a huge magazine that makes it hard for opponents to get close to you. It also has a fairly accurate hip fire, making it a solid choice for even more close-range exchanges. Keep in mind that the hip fire for the Spitfire has a slower rate of fire that keeps the recoil to a manageable level. Also, remember that while this gun has a massive magazine, this means that it is going to have a long reload time, which can be reduced by using the new legendRampart.
8Wingman
The Wingman had a fall from grace from the mountain that it used to sit upon. Even though it isn’t the world breaker that it used to be, it is still a massive damage dealer, especially for a pistol. There are still a few problems, first being that the 4 round magazine means that you are going to want to look for an extended heavy magazine.

This is offset by the speed provided by the weapon, which can make it really hard to hit you while you’re reloading. This weapon can also use Skullpiercer to increase the headshot damage to x2.25.
7G7 Scout
Next up is a pretty underrated pick. While this weapon can’t use the sniper scopes anymore, attaching the longest range scopes can help a lot. Even if you can’t find a scope for it somehow, it is still a good weapon even at short range. The good thing is that now that it’s considered an assault rifle it is a lot more common to find. On top of that, the rate of fire is really solid, even without the Double-Tap Hop Up making it into a monster.
6R-301 Carbine
This is the go-to rifle for players that work in mid-range. The R-301 Carbine might not have the most damage per shot landed as other assault rifles do, but its rate of fire more than makes up for that.

Its rate of fire is so good that it makes this rifle a solid choice for even more close range indoor encounters. On top of that, you don’t need a score for this weapon, as its iron sights are among the best in the whole game.
5Volt
The next weapon on our list is the one that has been introduced in this new season. There is always speculation about new weapons on whether they will be massively overpowered or just really weak. It seems thatRespawn Entertainmenthas done a good job of making this gun good, but not overpowered. The Volt is an energy-based SMG, meaning that it can absolutely shred the armor off of your enemies at close range which is great for later game fights. The only problem is that this gun chews through ammo fast so remember to stock up.
4Hemlok
Everyone’s favorite burst rifle makes its return to the top tier ofApex Legendsbut just misses out on placing. The burst fire that this gun offers a high level of accuracy, that is only compounded when it is changed to using its single-shot fire rate. This level of accuracy makes it a solid gun for everything but super long-range fights; especially if you are able to find a decent scope, but even then the iron sights aren’t bad. The changes that have been made in season 6 have made their way to the Hemlok, making it have even less recoil.
3Longbow DMR
Despite recieving some nerfs back in Season 3, the longbow DMR has always been a favorite of snipers everywhere. Despite it not being the most powerful long-range rifle that you can find, it is a ton more forgiving in terms of its recoil and magazine size. The rate of fire also means that following up on missed shots is a lot easier which can make all of the difference in a tight fight. The addition of the Skullpiercer Hop-Up has made this weapon even more deadly, as it makes the headshots on this thing even worse for the enemy.
2Devotion
Taking the silver medal on our list is the energy-based LMG, the Devotion. This is another energy-based weapon that has been removed from supply drops, but that doesn’t mean that its useless now. This gun barely suffers from any recoil, which is great for an LMG because it means that you can just keep firing. Even though its clip size has been reduced, that can be taken care of with some attachments. In the hands ofRampart, this thing becomes a force to be reckoned with.
1Mastiff
The gold medal for the best gun (as of right now) inSeason 6is the Mastiff shotgun. Since it was taken out of the supply drops in Season 5 and placed around the map, this gun has become the favorite of short-range, close-quarters legends everywhere. While it’s headshot damage isn’t as deadly as it used to be, its rate of fire and magazine speed has been increased to compensate. On top of how powerful it is, it is now one of the weapons that you can find fully kited, meaning you don’t have to look for anything else.
