Battlefield 2042is the newest game in theBattlefieldfranchise, and its futuristic setting takes it in a new direction compared tothe historical settings ofBattlefield 1andBattlefield 5. Recently, DICE hosted a beta for the upcoming game, giving players the opportunity to check out many different aspects of combat, such as flying jets, piloting drones, and even deploying robotic guard dogs. However, not everything about the beta is going according to plan, as one fan showcased during a hilariously glitchy battle.
In a Reddit post, a user known as safeenDB shared a video of them engaging an enemy in a 1v1 during theBattlefield 2042beta. The clip started with the player riding a zipline up the side of a high building. Once reaching the top of the structure, they came across an enemy near a flight of stairs. Jumping into action, the player whipped out a pistol and began to open fire on the hostile. Unfortunately, that’s where things started to go downhill.

As safeenDB unloaded their magazine at the opponent, several bright and disorienting flashes occurred. Even as theBattlefieldplayerfired shot after shot, the enemy remained standing, as seemingly every bullet missed the target. After being alerted to the presence of safeenDB, the enemy then started to fire back. However, like his assailant, the enemy failed to land a finishing shot. The fight soon devolved into a comical fistfight, with both players attempting to punch the other out. Eventually, the enemy landed a final hit, knocking safeenDB to the ground.
With over 4,200 upvotes, many in theBattlefield 2042community on Reddit found the 1v1 hilarious to watch. However, it highlighted several issues impacting the beta as well. As mentioned previously, the gamer had problems with screen flashes during the battle. Furthermore, the player noted that there appears to be noaim assist for controller playerson PC. Nevertheless, some people on Reddit thought some of safeenDB’s shots should have landed, raising concerns about hit registration in the game. In addition, many commented that issues with high ping on servers could have contributed to the problem.
This video showcased only a few of the glitches that players have been experiencing in the beta. Other clips have seen anomalies, such asBattlefield 2042players fall through solid surfacesalong with spastic ragdoll physics. In addition, players have had issues with poor frame rates.
It is worth noting that this is only a beta, and the developers could improve many of these aspects before release. WithBattlefield 2042already getting delayeduntil November 19, it will be interesting to see if this extra time allows the developers to fix many of the issues impacting the game.
