The most recent addition to theCall of Dutyfamily isBlack Ops 6, and while some might enjoy it for the Campaign and the Multiplayer, Zombies fans are in for a treat with its dedicated wave-based mode.Black Ops 6combines the joys of wave-based gameplay with added progression, so now players can jump into a game and grind Camos, Augments, and XP.
Outside of the fun grind, each map offers unique Wonder Weapons and joyous gameplay variety that will continue tochallenge players with each round. Special and Elite zombies are true threats, and the dedicated maps of Liberty Falls, Terminus, Citadelle des Morts, and more, prove how integral Zombies is to the DNA ofCall of Duty.

A choice that is more top-down than first-person,Project Zomboidpits players in a struggle to survive along with an RPG skillset that provides even the most versatile players with a struggle to survive.Project Zomboidhas been around for over a decade, and its early access status proves how big of a game this is setting out to be. It’san expansive sandbox with near-infinite waysto survive and even more ways to die.
The map is huge, the multiplayer adds layers of survival and trust, and players can work together to loot and fight their way to another morning without joining the hordes of undead that seek them out. It’s a fun and immersive experience with realistic survival at the forefront.
There is much horror present inDying Light 2, where it’s hard to feel safe during the day, and impossible to feel safe during the night. The undead hordes are as deadly as ever, and the new variants prove to be diabolical in design, it will take a co-op partner to feel some sense of confidence when navigating and running through a sprawling city thrust into survival and war.
Choices matter inDying Light 2, and the key to survival is in the decisions each player makes. With an arsenal of weapons both ranged and melee, players are going to need to venture through the city to stay free and alive in an open world that never sleeps.
Whilst not exactly a zombie game,Fallout 76does feature some elements that make for a perfect co-op title, with zombies. In-universe, these creatures are known as feral ghouls, and they are essentially zombies. From the fact that they are necrotic post-humans and they attack any human they see, feral ghouls can really make or break someone’s time inFallout 76, which is why they are great adversaries to face in co-op, with or without power armor.
Whilst the main gameplay ofFallout 76is about rebuilding the world, there’s definitely room for plenty of combat, and the fun style of action seen in the game compliments the feral ghoul punching and shooting well, especially in a group.
A game that went rather under the radar when it was released in 2018,Strange Brigadeis pretty underrated, andplayers seeking a new adventureshould definitely check this one out. The game itself has players explore the mystical ruins of temples in the 1930s, where they awaken all sorts of monsters, from ghosts and zombies.
There’s a daring call to adventure, and it’s a zombie game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If players want to sit back and have fun, uncovering treasure and solving puzzles with a mix of zombie-killing action, then this is the game for them.
Version 45 ofLethal Companyintroduced a new enemy type reminiscent of zombies with the Masks. These enemies further enhance mistrust and horror within the game that has taken the internet and Steam for a wild and fun ride. To enhance the zombie experience, theMaskedEnemyOverhaul modby HomelessGinger makes it so that these zombie enemies do not wear a mask, making it hard to distinguish a fake player from a real one, especially when they wear the same suits and spawn more frequently.
Minecraftmight be a peaceful game for many players, but for some seeking a thrill, ramp up the difficulty and spend the night hunting zombies. Zombies are one of the most classic enemies inMinecraft, and they come out at night and lurk in the darkest corners of caves, murmuring to themselves as they wait for new flesh to eat. Whether it’s players or villagers, theMinecraftzombies can be a grand threat, especially when they grow in numbers.
Zombies can also be found underwater as a variant called the Drowned. These special enemies are a grand threat, and they can certainly disrupt the peaceful fun of jumping through flower fields and feeding steaks to dogs, so it’s best to build a fortress and fill an area with light sources to try and counter these threats.

Whilst most players might recognizeFortniteas one of the bestBattle Royale games, it has expanded in 2024 to introduce new game modes since the Big Bang Event. Whilst players can jam out with instruments, race each other, and experience many amazing Creative maps from the community, the first concept forFortnitebefore the Battle Royale,Save the World, has gone unloved for far too long, and zombie fans might enjoy what it offers.
Save the Worldis the original idea forFortnite, and if players are well experienced withFortnite, they can bring their favorite skins into this story mode. Players will battle together, and build bases to stop the constant zombie hordes that lurk within the purple storms. There are many missions, rewards, and maps to get through inFortnite’s zombie mode.
