Lost Ark’scombat is one of the most obvious and largest draws of the game. It’s bombastic, responsive, and incredibly active. And, because of this, when the content eventually gets more difficult in the endgame Guardian Raids and Abyss Dungeons (as well as all the upcoming content the Eastern version already has), there’s a lot to keep track of both mechanically and visually.

Additionally, so many ofLost Ark’sNA userbase was told by numerous guides that their Battle Item Consumables should be saved as much as possible. Combine this complex gameplay design with the player’s constant feeling of not wanting to use their limited resources, and it’s easy to see why people don’t use their Consumables enough or know why they should use them. To help with this, let’s go over some of the best Consumables in the game.
10HP Potion & Major HP Potions
This first one should be the most obvious, but let’s just reiterate that Potions (HP Potions, Major HP Potions, and even Elemental HP Potions) will always be top-tier in terms of utility. Yes, players can probably get away with not using any Potions for the first few Guardian Raids, Cube attempts, and Abyss Dungeons if they really try, but the risk-reward usually isn’t worth it. If they succeed, they saved a Potion or two, if they don’t, they’re a large part of why the Guardian Raid or Abyss Dungeon failed, and they’re hurting everyone else’s experience.
So please, use Potions in endgame content, especially if it’s cooperative. It’s not that difficult to get more Battle Item Potions (at least compared to some Honing Materials), and it’s not worth the constant negativity.
9Signal Flares
While it might not seem like the Flare Consumable is all that useful, considering people never seem to use it (like they should), that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Flare is one of the biggest time-saving items in Guardian Raids, the content centered all around fighting the beasts of Arkesia’s lore, the Guardians. Throw a Signal Flare, and it instantly shows on the map where the Guardian is located. Yet, for some reason, people are being really stingy with this Consumable, and aren’t using it as they should.
Just so people are aware, the standard common courtesy in the Korean and Russian versions ofLost Arkis that Flare usage is in Party Order, AKA whoever has the “1” next to their name in the party should always be the one tossing the first Flare, while the rest of the party uses Pheromone Bombs, Destruction Bombs, or Whirlwind Grenades if need be.
8Dark Grenades
Next up is the first of many recommended Grenades/Bombs, but most of the other ones are used situationally while the Dark Grenade is almost always beneficial. To put it simply, the Dark Grenade lowers the defenses of the enemy it hits by 20% for all of twenty seconds.
This item is fantastic in World Boss encounters, in Abyss Dungeons, and Guardian Raids, especially if the party is all near the recommended level and would cut it close time-wise without the Dark Grenade usage. That said, the awkward way throwable Consumables are used inLost Arkisn’t great,so remember to double-press the Quick Bar input the Grenade is on…rather than pressing it, aiming with the mouse, and then clicking.
7Whirlwind Grenades
Moving on to the next Grenade-type Battle Item on this list, the Whirlwind Grenade. The funny thing about this one is, unlike the Dark Grenade, the actual effect of the Grenade is unimportant. It does a lackluster amount of damage and knocks regular enemies into the air.

No, the real key aspect of this item is the fact that it inflicts a high amount of Stagger Damage, making it a perfect item for Classes with fewer Stagger Skills to use in Abyss Dungeons for the numerous Stagger Checks many of the bosses tend to haveinLost Ark’ssurprisingly deep amount of endgame content.
6Pheromone Bombs
Moving on to the Pheromone Bomb, an item that has been hampered by its confusingly worded description. To summarize it in more understandable terms, the Pheromone Bomb is almost exclusively used in Guardian Raids, and it stops the Guardian from running away to another area of the map once they take a certain amount of damage for thirty seconds.
And a quick tip for using this at the perfect time, once the boss stops taking damage and only “Invincible” pops up instead, this is usually the sign that they’re about to run, so toss that Bomb!
5Destruction Bombs
If the Whirlwind Bomb is the perfect Consumable for Stagger Checks, the Destruction Bomb is the perfect item for breaking part of a Boss. There are quite a few Guardians and Bosses in the higher item levels that have some sort of breakable part, such as Levanos, Lava Chromanium, or any variation of Nacrasena. And, more often than not, breaking these parts off the Guardian/Boss allow the players to do either a ton more damageand really capitalize on the game’s incredible combat system.
So, for those playing a class with barely any Weak Point skills, this is the Consumable to always have on-hand.
4Awakening Potions
Scrappers can pretty much disregard this entry, as it does basically nothing for them. But, for just about every other Class/Sub-Class, the Awakening Potion is huge for some of the more DPS-heavy Boss Fights in Abyss Dungeons. Basically, when using this Potion, the user immediately refills their full Specialty Meter.
For example, with Sorceresses (an apparently controversial Class), this allows them to instantly use Arcane Rupture or Blink out of a bad situation. Or, additionally, with Berserkers this allows them to use their oh-so-coveted Burst Mode right after expending their last one.
3Panacea Potions
Now it’s time to talk about the Panacea, a Consumable almost everyone should have on their Quick Bar, but never does, as most players tend to think that they’ll just “dodge all the de-buffs.” But, take our word for it, the further along a player gets in the content, the more the boss fights get flooded with attacks that are almost impossible to dodge one-hundred percent of the time.

To put it into simpler terms, Panacea is a cleansing Potion that removes all de-buffs on the player. That said, just like regular HP Potions, it can’t be used when stunned, petrified, feared, or any other Status Effect that stops a player from moving/attacking. Thankfully, almost every de-buff in the game has several “stacks” that build up to the actual status effect triggering. So, keep some Panacea on hand, and key an eye on those debuffs, and Abyss Dungeons should feel a bit easier.
2Time Stop Potion
Time Stop Potion is another one of those situational Consumables, but there are quite a few situations in which it’s worthwhile. Basically, for anyone who has made it to the Tytalos Guardian Raid, it’s like the Invincible status effect players self-inflict on themselves by standing in Tytalos' sandstorms.
When this Potion is used, the player is then literally frozen in time and can’t move, attack, or take damage in any way (except for full-wipe attacks).
1Flame Grenades
Last up is another Grenade and one that not many people know the best use of. On paper, the Flame Grenade is just a nice bit of extra damage to a Boss or Guardian as it puts fire on the ground that deals consistent damage. But, the real use of this Grenade is actually its usage on friendlies. Basically, there are a lot of Bosses that petrify, trap or otherwise incapacitate allies in some way, and the only way to free them (usually) is to attack them until the purple bar underneath their character model is gone.
This is where Flame Grenades comes in. If an ally is de-buffed with this purple bar and saving them would be a huge risk or they’re too far, just toss a Fire Grenade underneath them! The fire the Grenade leaves behind does constant damage triggers, and it works towards depleting this purple bar relatively quickly. There are a million little tricks like this that players have no idea about inLost Ark,but it’s just a matter of figuring them out.
