Summary
At first glance, Kyros might seem likethe typical mage, but in terms of raw power, he’s actually the strongest character in all ofWayfinder. With that being said though, Kyros can be very difficult to use and definitely requires a good amount of practice to juggle all of his abilities effectively, but considering he can wipe out enemies single-handedly when used correctly, he’s avery rewardingWayfinder to learn.

Kyros' abilitiesare a little strange in the way they work though, specifically in the sense that, while some are essential for buffing his stats and dealing as much damage as possible, others are a lot less useful. Kyros strays away from the weak mage archetype found in many other games, and he’s a lot stronger and far more powerful when used by someone who knows exactly what ability to throw out when in the heat of battle.
5Arcane Focus
Arcane Focus can definitely be useful when trying to quickly sweep out a swarm of enemieswhile playing in a team, but the truth is, it’s an ability that’s very easy to forget about due to how underwhelming it is. First off, to even get the most damage out of the explosion, the enemy already needs to be hit a few times to charge up the mark. Even then, the blast radius is so small that it isn’t going to catch more than 2 other enemies in the explosion.
There’s also the fact that actually casting the ability is quite tricky since Kyros will throw it out directly in front of him, meaning he will be forced to get up close and personal if he wants to use it. Whenhacking and slashingmonsters to pieces, Arcane Focus can be useful to throw out to provide an extra bout of damage, but it’s really not anything to write home about.
4Hand Of Reckoning
Despite being Kyros' ultimate ability, Hand of Reckoning is actually fairly underwhelming and a little difficult to use, but that isn’t to say that it can’t still be a real lifesaver in certain scenarios. After a lengthy startup animation, Kyros will summon a gigantic hand from the sky to pummel the ground, instantly wiping out anyone in a fairly big radius.

While it may be immensely strong and great for breaking down the health bars ofstubborn enemies and bosses, it’s the lack of anything extra that really holds it back. For example, while Kyros' character majorly revolves around the use of Arcane Fragments, Hand of Reckoning won’t generate any and also won’t be able to consume them. Additionally, the ultimate doesn’t provide any lingering buffs after it’s been activated, something which is true for every other character in one way or another. The ability is still a ton of fun to use and can really help a team escape from a scary situation, but the lack of after-effects makes it quite forgettable.
3Siphon Radiant
Siphon Radiant isan amazing abilitythat anyone playing Kyros really should get into the habit of using whenever it’s ready to throw out, especially because it will drastically reduce the cooldown of his other techniques. What this means is that he can activate any of his abilities, dishing out as much damage as possible before activating Siphon Radiant to go again for round 2.
The radius of the attack is also surprisingly large and will easily afflict multiple enemies with a single blast. It would have been nice if the ability generated a little more Arcane Fragments, but this isn’t really where the ability shines, so it’s more of a welcome bonus than anything. It also needs to be said that the speed of Siphon Radiant is incredibly fast, so the risk of getting surrounded while activating it is extremely low.
2Arcane Fragments
Arcane Fragments are at the center of Kyros' kit, and the reason for that is because they can turn Savage Rake, which is already an immensely strong attack, into an unstoppable technique that will tear apart anyone who dares step in the way ofthis fearsome war mage. Each time Kyros picks up an Arcane Fragment, it will appear as a small purple orb floating around him, making them easy to keep track of.

The best way to use Kyros is to follow a pattern of attacking enemies with Arcane Focus and Hand of Reckoning before activating Siphon Radiant to recharge all the abilities that had just been used and to acquire an Arcane Fragment along the way. Thisgameplay loopallows Kyros to build up his stock of orbs to then unleash a deadly attack in the form of his Savage Rake.
1Savage Rake
Savage Rake is Kyros' go-to ability, with his whole game plan being centered around buffing the ability until it’s finally ready to annihilate his enemies with a few swipes. Aside from the damage, which can stack to a tremendous degree with each added charge, Savage Rake is alsolightning-fastand can be used in quick succession very easily, but since it also has a decent range, it also means Kyros can remain a safe distance away when pulling it out.
The gigantic AOE of the magic also means multiple enemies can get caught up in the attack, so it’s best to use it on small groups where Kyros can make quick work with just a few slashes. This also makes it great for bosses that are large in stature with giant health pools, such as Kolaar the Beastmaster andBroodmother S’ilrethfor example.
