Summary

Boruto: Two Blue Vortexhas been incredibly exciting over the course of the last few weeks. This month’s Boruto chapter was extra special as it covered the events of the timeskip and fans finally got a look at Sasuke Uchiha, whose terrible fate was revealed to them last month. Thankfully, the authors of the story did not simply move past the events of the timeskip without providing more context to the fans.

Readers got a proper look at what transpired between Sasuke and Boruto during the timeskip, at least for a short while, and how Sasuke ended up being turned into a God Tree. Before that happened, Sasuke was seen engaging in combat and, during this fight, it was finally confirmed that Sasuke, after losing his Rinnegan, was stronger than Naruto after he lost Kurama.

Naruto and Sasuke In Boruto

Naruto And Sasuke’s Strength At The Beginning Of Boruto

At the beginning of theNarutoseries, both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were known to be the strongest in the world. These two shinobi reached the very pinnacle of strength and there was no ninja alive strong enough to rival them in terms of combat. This was proven to the fans when both Naruto and Sasuke were able to fight against Momoshiki and did incredibly well to hold their own against him. Even though they were at half-power, both of them were strong enough to combat his threat and even defeat him in combat.

Together, they successfully managed to defeat him and it was quite clear for the fans to see that they were relevant in terms of strength.Kishimoto mentioned himself that Sasuke and Narutowere equal at the beginning of the Boruto series, however, this level of strength wasn’t maintained throughout the series. As the story progressed, Naruto hit an entirely new level, thanks to the power of the Baryon Mode that he tapped into while fighting against Isshiki. His strength was such that it far surpassed that of Sasuke Uchiha and even Isshiki. By this point, Naruto was easily the strongest in the entire world and his strength could not be rivaled by anyone in the ninja world. Sadly, Naruto ended up losing the powers of Kurama and that meant a large portion of his strength simply vanished.

Naruto And Sasuke Losing Their Powers

Naruto Uzumaki was certainly not the only one who lost the vast majority of his powers at this point in the story. To defeat Isshiki, a big price had to be paid. Naruto was ready to pay for it with his life when he tapped into the powers of Baryon Mode. In the end, Kurama tricked Naruto and it was only he who ended up sacrificing his life, leaving Naruto alive. However, from here onwards, Naruto was on his own and would have to look out for himself for the very first time in his life. Sasuke Uchiha, although largely insignificant in the fight against Isshiki, was also present there and he paid a heavy price as well. In his case, it was Momoshiki who took his Rinnegan from him and, crippled him greatly in terms of power.

Sasuke was stabbed directly in the eye when Momoshiki took over Boruto’s body. As a result, he lost a significant portion of his powers. One can argue that the powers that Naruto and Sasuke lost were somewhat relative. This is because both of them ended up losing access to their Six Path abilities, which was their biggest source of power ever since they awakened it in the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, the powers that they lost weren’t equal by any means.Naruto lost a bigger chunk of his powers, since he didn’t even have access to normal Kurama Chakra Mode. Meanwhile, for Sasuke, the loss wasn’t as big since he still had one of his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and, thanks to it, many powerful abilities up his sleeve still.

Sasuke Vs Code During The Timeskip

It was clear for the fans to see that Sasuke had been dealt better cards when compared to Naruto when both of them had their abilities stripped from them. However, the difference in strength didn’t just stop there. It appears that Sasuke somehow got stronger during the timeskip ofBoruto.

It wasn’t explained in the story as to how this happened, however, his display against Code is proof of that. Either this is a retcon from the author or, Sasuke actually became that dangerous. Previously, Sasuke, even together with Naruto, was not able to fight against Jigen. It was quite clear for the fans to see that these two lacked severely in terms of power when compared to him and, even together, they could not even land a single scratch on him, especially after he used the power of his Karma.

After Isshiki died, Code became the primary antagonist of the series and, following the removal of his limiters, it was said that his strength far surpassed that of even Jigen. This is the person that Sasuke Uchiha was up against during the timeskip and, for someone who was far stronger than the Jigen that Naruto and Sasuke couldn’t defeat together, Sasuke should have stood absolutely no chance. Yet, against all odds, Sasuke actually fought very well and held his own against him. In fact,Sasuke even took one of his eyes from himand injured him greatly in combat.

What makes this even more impressive for Sasuke is the fact that Code was actually backed by an army of Claw Grimes that he created to combat his enemies. Despite that, Sasuke was able to chop through many of them and hold off Code for quite a while.

Of course, in the end, Sasuke lost the battle and was turned into a tree. However, his performance against someone stronger than Jigen was much better than the performance that he and Naruto together put up against Jigen in the story previously. This is a clear indication of the fact that Sasuke has either grown much stronger or the writers of Boruto have decided to retcon what they previously established.

Was Sasuke Stronger Than Naruto?

When it comes to a comparison of strength between Naruto and Sasuke after both lost their powers, it is clear that Sasuke is stronger than him. Sasuke hasthe power of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, using which he can use both Amaterasu and the power of Kagutsuchi as well. He can still manifest the power of Susanoo as even without the Mangekyo Sharingan being present in the body, this power can be invoked. Sasuke also has access to many jutsu that he has likely mastered thanks to his Rinnegan and he will still be able to utilize those abilities.

Other than that, it appears that Sasuke has also received an amp in terms of overall physical attributes, which is clear from the fact that he was able to fight back against Code, who was much stronger than Jigen. As a result, this is clear proof ofthe fact that Sasuke surpassed Narutoafter they lost their powers in the story.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and theManga Plusapp. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto Part 2 chapter 6 is set to be June 03, 2025.
