At the moment, there’s not much information available forBravely Default 2, not outside of a few trailers and Square Enix interviews. However, the ACB — better known as the Australian Classification Board — recently rated the game, which means thatBravely Default 2’s release datemay be drawing near, or, at least, its release date will be announced soon.
For context, games usually only receive a rating when they’re close to releasing, so the fact that the Australian Classification Board gaveBravely Default 2one should mean that Square Enix has a release date in mind for it. This is by no means a confirmation, of course, but it’s a trend that’s worth mentioning nonetheless.

The Australian Classification Board rated the game “M,” for Moderate. As most can imagine, the ACB rates things differently from the American ESRB, so both board’s “M” ratings have a different meaning. ACB’s Moderate rating is closer to ESRB’s T for “Teen” rating, which ESRB gives to games with violence or suggestive themes.
The Australian Classification Board gaveBravely Default 2the Moderate rating for similar reasons. It believes the violence and mature themes present in the game have a moderate impact on it, and that it has sexual content that’s somewhat mild, which probably just means a few of the game’s characters have somewhat revealing outfits — something fairlycommon in JRPGs. Beyond that, the Australian Classification Board claimsBravely 2doesn’t have any foul language, nudity, or drug use.
Hopefully, ACB’s rating does mean thatBravely Default 2’s release date will get announced soon. Usually, when a game gets a release date, news for it typically starts to pick up and become more frequent, and manyfans of theBravelyseriesare looking forward to learning 2after the controversy surrounding its predecessor,Bravely Second.
Where exactly this news will come from if it does happen remains a mystery, though. Square Enix already announced its line up for when it appears in theTokyo Game Showon September 24, and there’s no mention ofBravely Default 2there. There’s a Nintendo Direct happening in October, however, whereBravelycan make an appearance.
In the meantime, fans can check out some ofBravely Default 2’s trailers. Square Enix also released a demo for the game in the past, but any footage of it would be outdated at this point, as the publisher claimed that it would be making adjustments to the game based on fan feedback.
