Over the last couple of weeks, a new exploit has begun to spread throughoutCall of Dutythat allows users to fire unlimited, semi-automatic grenades from an underbarrel launcher attachment. Over recent days, the exploit has increased in popularity, with more and more users falling prey to the glitch. In response to this, the official CODUpdates Twitter account announced that underbarrel launcher attachments have been temporarily disabled while the development team investigates the issue, as fans hope for a fix within the next day or so.Call of Dutystreamer Fifakill_ posted a video to his Twitter account that showed him being pummeled by an abuser’s semi-automatic grenade launcher.

Given that the glitch has been in the game for some time now, users probably would have preferred to see it fixed earlier in the month, but of course, any fix is better than no fix. The exploit appears to only be an in-game glitch rather than a new form of cheating software, soCall of Duty’s recent anti-cheat upgradesare likely not much of a factor here.

Like many popular first-person shooters, cheating is a constant issue forCall of Duty. Recent titles have made it more inconvenient for console players to disable crossplay, causing many console users to enter matchmaking with the PC player base and its bad apples who decide to download cheats.

In response to the cheating issue,Call of Duty’s anti-cheat system has implemented a number of counters, including the humorous “Splat” function, which cuts aWarzonecheater’s parachute after cheats are detected. Despite the system’s supposed improvements over recent months, cheating is still a prevalent issue withinCall of Dutyand probably isn’t going away anytime soon.
