Understandably, this has led to speculation that Ghost is coming toModern Warfare 2as a playable Operator. If so, it seems like the most likely scenario is that Ghost will be added toModern Warfarewith the Season Two update, which is set to release at some point in February.
If Ghost does come toModern Warfarewith the Season Two update and Battle Pass, it’s possible that the next season will have a generalMW2theme. After all,Modern WarfareSeason One addedCall of Duty 4mapsto the game, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for Season Two to addMW2maps. In fact,Modern Warfare 2map remakes have been rumored forModern Warfaresince before the game’s release.
More specifically, evidence has been found through datamining efforts that point toModern WarfaregettingpopularMW2maps like Rust and Terminal. A multitude of other classicCall of Dutymaps have also been found in these datamining efforts, though, and it’s also quite likely that Infinity Ward will be releasing brand new maps as well.
Some fans may prefer the classicCall of Dutymaps to the new ones, however. Many ofModern Warfare’s new maps have been met with criticism, with the exception being the small-scaleShoot House map. Maybe Infinity Ward can redeem itself with new maps ideas in Season Two, but fans will have to wait to find out for sure.
