Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’slast playlist update brought back the popular “Snipers Only” game mode. In this mode, players battle through multiple game types using only Sniper Rifles. WhileModern Warfarefans are happily queueing in, a new glitch is causing a few unexpected problems.
Most fans are aware thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis no stranger to glitches and bugs. Almost every update comes with unintended side effects that the community is quick to report. While most bugs do not affect the game too heavily, this glitch defies the entire premise of “Snipers Only.”

In a clip posted by Mr_Knighty on Reddit, players can see them start with a sniper rifle loadout. Once selected, however, the player quickly changes intootherModern Warfareloadoutsfrom an assault rifle to shotgun builds. The secret is that Mr_Knighty is using the key binds that allow for quick switching classes. By pressing these buttons he can bypass the “Snipers Only” description and instead use any loadout he wants. Most players who have discovered this bug did so on accident, but the fact remains that the “Snipers Only” game mode may not be as long-range as intended.

While many members of the game’s community are aware of this bug, several players are opting to use sniper loadouts anyway. While this is enough to drive many of the honest community members, there is still a large number of players exploiting this bug for easy kills.
By default, “Snipers Only” restricts players intopre-builtCall of Dutysniper classesmaking the community resort to quick scoping and similar tactics. Due to a dislike for the developer’s loadouts, many players are taking advantage of this bug to run their own personal sniper builds. Due to familiarity with the gear, this is resulting in many exploiting players with ARs to still lose throughout the round due to skilled snipers.
It is unclear if a patch will come through to fix this bug as it is only appearing on PC. For many players, this is a minor problem with game-breaking potential so the community hopes that the developer will quickly patch it soon.
