Online shooters are always in a constant battle with cheaters, andCall of Duty: Warzoneis no different. In a recent blog post, theCall of Duty: Warzoneteam has given an update on their progress battling cheaters as well as what their plans include to continue the fight in the future.
The free-to-play battle royale has been particularly attacked by cheaters and hackers using various methods and tactics to get the upper edge over their competitors. As of late, players have been having to deal with various different bugs andCall of Duty: Warzonecheaters exploiting themto gain an unfair advantage, despite theCall of Dutyteam being diligent in their attempts to curb it.

The post begins with the impressive statistic that to dateCall of Duty: Warzonehas permanently banned 475,000 players, with the most recent ban wave occurring a few days ago that was the seventh of its kind since February. The post also details the team’s efforts to curb commercial cheat markets that farm accounts to be sold to repeat cheaters in an attempt to avoid being detected as a free-to-play account made solely for cheating. It is a difficult aspect of fighting cheaters, butCall of Dutyhas been fairly proactive on that front through tactics such as hardware bans for repeat offenders.
TheCall of Dutyteam also gives an insight into what areas they are increasing their efforts in to try and deter cheaters. These areas include 2-factor authentication for accounts, performing high-volume banwaves more frequently, devoting more resources to security and enforcement teams, as well as being more frequent in communicating their efforts to the community.
