WhileCyberpunk 2077has had a very rocky time since the game launched, the game’s developers are still confident it will eventually get its due. In fact, CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński recently said in an interview that he still believesCyberpunk 2077will eventually be seen as a success.
There are already some signs that gamers are coming around on the game a bit.Cyberpunk 2077launched with so many bugs and glitches that it had to be pulled from PlayStation’s online store page but since then its developers have been working to make incremental improvements. Some of those improvements have convinced players to give it another chance and that’s even led to the game getting aflood of positive reviews on Steam. Kiciński apparently believes the game will keep making strides in that direction.

The CD Projekt Red president spoke to the Polish economic newspaper Rzeczpospolita and said thatCyberpunk 2077staying in the headlines will eventually help it. More specifically, according to Video Games Chronicle, the brand awareness of the game means that it will eventually be seen as a success.
At one point, the exec compared the path ofCyberpunk 2077to what the developerhad to do with all of itsWitchergames. In that regard, he said that the development team has tried to take things a step further from what people saw when it first released. He added thatCyberpunkwas the most ambitious and complicated project the company has taken on in its 27-year history.
Kiciński also made it clear he knew that there were missteps in both the development and the decisions that were made leading up to the game’s release. Those sorts of problems are still being pointed out by streamers today, such as PewDiePie’scomparisons ofCyberpunk 2077and theGTA Trilogy. However, he still believes that eventually, the general public will see the work that’s been put into the game. He added that he thinks it “will be perceived as a very good game,” and will sell as well as CDPR’s other titles eventually.
Of course, it’s possible that recent reductions in the asking price could help that along while also keeping the game’s name in front of users. Several retailers offered the game for at least half off the usual asking price and there was at least one spot whereCyberpunk 2077was offered upfor an “insanely cheap” price.
Cyberpunk 2077is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
