Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, theIron Manfranchise was hardly a top draw for Marvel. However, the MCU propelled Iron Man to becoming one of the Marvel’s most popular heroes of all time. There have been some attempts to capitalize onIron Man’s relatively newfound popularity through video games, with the most recent beingMarvel’s Avengersand theIron Man VRgame, but there hasn’t been a true, big budget, triple-AIron Man-focused game made to date.
One such project was in the works at Avalanche Studios. According to the reports, theJust Causedeveloper was making anIron Mangame, but it seems Disney and Marvel ultimately decided to pull the plug on the project. Rumor has it that a fresh attempt at anIron Manvideo game is in development at EA, though that has yet to be announced in any official capacity.

WhileIron Manfans wait to learn more about the potential EA-published game, they can check out a recently-released fan-made concept video that shows what an open world take on the project would be like if it were built using Unreal Engine 5. The video was uploaded by YouTube channel TeaserPlay, which releases all kinds ofUnreal Engine 5 concept videosfor various hypothetical video game projects.
The trailer is about 2 minutes long, and it shows Iron Man exploring a variety of environments, including a valley, a mountain, a city, and a desert. Viewers are able to see Iron Man’s flying capabilities in action, and they also get a glimpse at the hero’s Mk. 1 armor. Based on the trailer, it seems to mostly be taking inspiration from the firstIron Manmovie, which saw similar elements at play.
The focus is primarily on Iron Man, but there are some scenes ofTony Starkoutside his suit as well. The Tony Stark in this concept video doesn’t look much like Robert Downey Jr.’s take on the character, so it seems to be taking more inspiration from the comic books in that realm.
If the rumors are true aboutEA making anIron Mangame, it seems fans soon won’t have to watch concept videos like this to tide them over. There isn’t much known about the rumoredIron Manvideo game project beyond that it is supposedly in development at EA and that it will apparently be a single-player experience, so it may be quite some time before fans learn any more details in an official capacity.
