Despite releasing nearly three years ago,Red Dead Redemption 2has managed to maintain its popularity and relevance in the gaming community. While largely due to the budding success ofRed Dead Online, the story and characters ofRed Dead Redemption 2have also allowed the game to persist for quite a long time now. However, one player has encountered something that could potentially just be a glitch or an indication of what’s to come.
A particular facet that made the originalRed Dead Redemptionso memorable and enjoyable for many players was the DLC campaign that Rockstar Games had released calledUndead Nightmare. The campaign was more or less an alternate version of events that turned a number of the NPCs into zombies and included new gameplay mechanics, side content, and outfits. There has yet to be a version ofUndead NightmareinRed Dead Redemption 2, but a recent glitch a player encountered is quite reminiscent of the DLC campaign.

A Reddit user by the name of MooseVI encountered a strange visual glitch during a cutscene that presumably transformedArthur Morganand a side character into zombies for a brief moment. It turned the lighting, textures, and other background areas of the game a dark shade of green, as well as the character models having pale skin and eyes, similar to a zombie’s. Though, the game immediately switches back to the original look after just a few seconds.
Now, it’s fairly obvious that this is most likely a graphical or resolution error on the player’s front and not some indication of a futureDLC campaign forRed Dead Redemption 2involving zombies. Rockstar Games probably wouldn’t have inserted a scene like that into the game, unless it directly tied into a confirmed DLC campaign. Even so, the studio would have at that point just release a trailer or something to that extent.
However, a number of fans would likely agree thatRed Dead Redemption 2would greatly benefit from a DLC campaign, given how well the narrative of the game has been received. Right now, the bulk ofRed Dead Redemption 2’snew content has been devoted toRed Dead Onlineand therefore, hasn’t left much room for anything outside of it.
It will be interesting to see what Rockstar Games has planned forRed Dead Redemptiongoing forward. It’s been almost three years since the initial launch ofRed Dead Redemption 2and there still hasn’t been any official word regarding the development of a DLC campaign or a third mainline installment. Only time will tell ifRockstar Gameschooses to devote its attention in terms of new story content forRed Dead Redemption 2.
