During the originalCrisis Core, players could join a number of fan clubs during the game. While these fan clubs have little practical purpose, they do unlock a fair bit of fun flavor for Midgar. One of these fan clubs, called Silver Elite, is a Sephiroth fan club dedicated to the first SOLDIER. If players join the fan club, they get an email titled “The scent of silver winds,” which details the secret of Sephiroth’s otherworldly hair care routine.
Players were relieved to see such an important piece of trivia wasbeing preserved inCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion.Crisis Coreis all about providing additional context forFinal Fantasy 7, and the fan club content was integral to building the atmosphere of Midgar society. If Sephiroth’s hair care routine is still in the game, players can probably expect to see the fan clubs and other fun side content preserved–and maybe even added to–within the remake as well.
Love him or hate him, no gamer can deny the profound impact Sephiroth had on pop culture after his introduction as the primary antagonist inFinal Fantasy 7. Though few gamers could ever trulydecide on whichFinal Fantasygame is the best, it is fair to sayFinal Fantasy 7, as the first 3DFinal Fantasytitle, set a precedent for theFinal Fantasyfranchise the same way Sephiroth did for SOLDIER. Luckily, players won’t have to wait too long for more Sephiroth content–beyond theCrisis Coreremaster,Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisisis slated to release some time this year, and the next installment of theFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketrilogy,Rebirth, releases in 2023.
