Thankfully, the following perks and add-ons will help players strengthen the weaker aspects of their abilities inDead by Daylight. These builds include the perks available to all Killers, as well as those limited to players who only own All Things Wicked.

This updated guide features some tweaked builds and an updated best add-ons list to improve your chances of killing Survivors.
The Unknown: Best Beginner Build (2024)
For players without access to otherDead by DaylightDLC Killers, this build focuses on slowing healing with each basic attack using Sloppy Butcher. Meanwhile, kicking generators obscures your Terror Radius, allowing for more effective sneak attacks. Bitter Murmur and Hex: No One Escapes Death also pair nicely by revealing Survivors’ auras with each generator completed and exposing them in the endgame.
The Unknown: Best Build (2024)
Arguably thebest assortment of Killer perksto run on The Unknown includesDiscordance, Corrupt Intervention, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance.Discordance allows The Unknown to track the generators being worked on, exposing multiple Survivors to being Weakened by their UVX power. The other three perks go a long way towards slowing the progress of generators.
The Unknown: Best Add-Ons
Blurry Photo
Starting with the Common Add-Ons, The Unknown’s Blurry Photo allows them toregain full movement speed 50% fasterafter teleporting. This gives the Killer more time to catch up to nearby Survivors.
Vanishing Box
This powerful Add-On weakensSurvivor completing generators,opening them up to being injuredby The Unknown’s UVX power.
Front Page Article
Spawning Hallucinations is a key part of The Unknown’smap control inDead by Daylight. Having the Front Page Article equipped helps tremendously with quickly traversing the realms. This Add-Ondecreases Hallucination spawn time by 50%when you break a pallet or wall.
Footprint Cast
Similar to the Front Page Article, this Add-On increases Hallucination spawn time. When a Survivor becomes Weakened by UVX, thespawn time decreases by 15 seconds.
B-Movie Poster
Helping to prevent Survivors from quickly resetting withtheir best healing builds, those damaged by The Unknown’s UVX suffer fromthe Broken status ailment for 30 seconds.
Obscure Game Cartridge
The best of The Unknown’s Very Rare Add-Ons, the Obscure Game Cartridge allows the Killer to quickly rip through Survivors’ resources byspeeding break actions by 30% for 20 secondsafter teleporting.
Captured by the Dark
This powerful Ultra Rare Add-Onmakes all Survivors start the trial Weakened, at the cost of decreasing the maximum number of Hallucinations. This increases The Unknown’s early game pressure by opening Survivors up to being injured by UVX immediately.
