The overall story ofDemon Slayerisn’t for the faint of heart. Filled with grief, violence, and heartache, this shounen anime does a fantastic job of having many layers of depth to its world, characters, and storytelling. However, for those brief moments protagonist, Tanjiro, isn’t faced with near-death, his adventures with his friends can be quite entertaining.

After getting audiences back up to speed, the second season will continue from the events at the end of this arc/the film. With the series starting up again, fans are quick to get back into making hilarious memes about their favorite characters. To celebrate the long-awaited return of theDemon Slayerseries, here are a few new priceless memes about Tanjiro and his adventures with his friends.
15Asleep On The Job
Zenitsu may be a qualified and (sometimes) capable demon hunter but surprisingly enough, his best work is done when he’s clocked out. Zenitsu’s unique fighting style involves him being completely unconscious, his brain essentially leaving his body to deal withany threatening demons around him.
As bizarre as Zenitsu’s “unconscious combat” technique may sound, it works very well for him and allows him to override any fear or cowardice he has and unleash his true power. The only downside is that Zenitsu doesn’t recall any of his battles; and while Tanjiro may be impressed and grateful to his friend, Zentisu is left in the dark with no clue about the true happenings.
14Together, They Cancel Out
A great friendship often grows from two individuals having many similarities in their personalities, but sometimes a friendship can flourish out of complete opposites. Tanjiro is a kind-hearted, understanding, and patient boy; extending his politeness and compassion over to even the most bloodthirsty demons.
Meanwhile, Inosuke is a bit of a hothead, making the duo quite the contrast of qualities. Tanjiro may express his condolences to each and every enemy he puts to rest, but fans can trust the tone-deaf (yet loveable) Inosuke to be right by his side, lavishing in hisvictory against the demons.
13Tanjiro The Overthinker
Demon Slayermay not have a true, objective narrator, it seems as if Tanjiro decided to take the role up himself. Who can blame Tanjiro for his lengthy inner monologues?A good protagonistknows to always keep the audience up to speed with any goings-on. Not only that, but it’s important to have a trustworthy protagonist that thinks things through before acting; so fans should be grateful that Tanjiro is so cautious and analytic!
Tanjiro is naturally a bit of an overthinker that likes to organize his thoughts and Nezuko wouldn’t have it any other way.
12Frienemies ‘Til The End
Tanjiro and Inosuke’s “friendship” is a complicated one and seems to have firstspawned out of a vicious rivalry. Although the two still fight side by side (with Zentisu covering their backs), that doesn’t mean their rivalry still doesn’tshow its head from time to time.

Perhaps it’s a bit more fitting to call their dynamic one-sided, as it is usually Inosuke that takes anything (literally anything) Tanjiro does as an insult or challenge. Hopefully, Zentisu and Nezuko can jump in before Inosuke begins to antagonize Tanjiro too much!
11Off-Limits!
This dinner cat meme format has tons of possibilities and Zenitsu’s reaction to finding out about Nezuko’s presence fits it perfectly. It’s true that Zenitsu knew about Tanjiro secretly keeping a demon with them on their journey, but he was still unaware of how cute that demon actually was!
Zentisu is very hung up about finding himself a cute girl to call his sweetheart, so it was no surprise that when Tanjiro revealed his secret aboutkeeping demon Nezuko in the mysterious boxon his back, Zenitsu was horribly angry at his friend for holding out on him. Zentisu may be a good boy, but when it comes to Nezuko, Tanjiro can be very protective.
10Kill Them With Kindness
Being a likable protagonist is a difficult thing to do, yet Tanjiro seems to have most of the fandom on his side.Tanjiro may not be the strongest demon hunterthere is, but he is definitely trying his hardest and showing lots of potential on the way. While the job of being a demon hunter is often a bloody and gruesome one, Tanjiro’s heart of gold shines through and allows him to lay each demon to rest in a peaceful way.
It seems as if Tanjiro’s most powerful weapon of all is his kind-hearted compassion. Hopefully, Inosuke can learn a thing or two from his buddy.
9Rest In Peace, Doge-Ito & Pup-Komo
Apparently, Tanjiro is so likable that he’s even able to make friends with comrades that contact him from beyond the grave. Before Tanjiro’s official demon hunter days, he needed all the help he could get; and former students Sabito and Makomo couldn’t help themselves from stepping in to ensure Tanjiro’s success.
Perhaps this meme is a bit sad, but it’s no doubt that the look on Doge Tanjiro’s face definitely does a great job of softening the harshmemories that accompany this particular arc. Doge Sabito and Makomo will live on forever in fans’ hearts!
8The Backbone Of The Family
Having to travel all across the land with a family member on your back already seems like a difficult journey on its own. However, this meme reimagines theDemon Slayeruniverse and poses a question; what if Tanjiro’s entire family all changed into demons?
Would Tanjiro’s encounter with Giyu be different? Tanjiro was barely able to fight off Nezuko; so the thought of poor Tanjiro fighting off his entire family of demons would be an awful image. However, this hilarious reimagining also shows what Tanjiro’s (already exhausting) journey would have looked like had his entire family survived.
That then leaves fans with another question: Would Tanjiro put his entire family into one singular box or carry each one of them individually in a box of their own?
7Stuck in The Middle
The series' main trio may not have gotten alongright from the beginning of their journey, but over time, it’s clear that Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke all grew to truly care about one another as a team. However, just like any friend group, the three are still subject to their quarrels every once in a while.
This take on the “woman yelling at cat meme” is a great portrayal of how poor Tanjiro always finds himself caught in the middle of the constant bickering between Zenitsu scolding Inosuke for his outlandish behavior. Although the two are always butting heads, leave it to the kind-hearted Tanjiro to try his best to keep the peace.

A common joke across theDemon Slayerfandom is how unbelievably kind and compassionate Tanjiro is throughout the series. In a world where demons are generally dismissed as horrible monsters that do nothing but kill, Tanjiro still finds himself able to sympathize with them.
