In the most recentThis Week in Destiny blog post, exotic armor across all three classes will receive an overhaul as part ofBungie’s latest plans forDestiny 2. Most notably, Bungie has stated that the updated armor will help provide players with more melee-oriented options. Additionally, the Aeon Cult armor pieces are also receiving changes to make them more viable in the PvE endgame, with the focus being on the underutilized Sects of Force and Vigor mods. Now, the Sect of Force mod will give “allies significant bonus weapon damage against powerful combatants.” At the same time, Sect of Vigor will be more defensive-focused and grant damage resistance in PvE, along with class ability benefits.

TITAN

WARLOCK

For Hunters inDestiny 2, the airborne lateral acceleration bonus has been reduced for the St0mp-EE5 leg armor. Now, players will gain more damage resistance from combatants while airborne and get movement bonuses without fully using the class ability. Warlocks will get more melee and grenade regeneration for eight seconds after their super ends when using Apotheosis Veil. Additionally, Warlocks and their allies will gain a Tier 3 Cure upon casting their super. Synthoceps for Titans have been reworked so that the extended melee lunge distance has been removed, in addition to the surrounded melee damage bonus getting reduced to 165%, a 35% difference. However, the Synthoceps have also gotten a 100% melee glaive buff, a 50% increase, and better weapon handling and reload speed when surrounded.

Other armor pieces that received a rework include Shards of Galanor, Felwinter’s Helm, and Wormgod Caress. While players cannot know how good these updates feel until they go into effect next week, they will change theDestiny 2sandbox to feel fresher. Both casual and endgame players will have more options to experiment with whenSeason of the Wish launches next week.
