Summary
Emotes are one of the purest forms of expressionism in video games.Destiny 2features hundreds of emotes for players to choose from, with only a selection of four available to use at any time. Players often use the bestDestiny 2emotes to add humor to a situation, whether it’s a failing Raid encounter, or simply to just die in style as the immortal Guardian. However, there exists some rareDestiny 2emotes that some players might not have seen before.

ConsideringDestiny 2has had a rather lengthy lifespan, and some questionable events have emerged in the game with the Eververse store and limited content that has been Sunset, it might surprise players to find that some ofDestiny 2’s rarest emotes are ones that they haven’t seen before, or will not be able to obtain.
7Selfie
One of the more sought-after and interesting emotes inDestiny 2is the Selfie. Not only is this a rare emote due to itslimited run in the Eververse, and its inclusion in a one-time Twitch bundle forDestiny 2players, but the way it works makes it something that many players desire.
Whereas most emotes have players committed to an action or a hologram prop, this emote actually takes the camera and places it into the character’s hand, allowing them to take a literal selfie. Players can group up with other Guardians to take a selfie with a Raid boss, or even just in a nice area.
6Heart Sign
One of the more wholesome emotes inDestiny 2comes from the Heart Sign emote. When players use this emote, they will use both hands to form a holographic red heart that they can display to their favorite NPC, enemy, or Guardian. It’s a lovely display of affection and recognition. Hopefully, people don’t use it on thoseundeserving, like Rhulk or Nezarec.

Crimson Days was a Valentine-themed event inDestiny 2that only occurred during February for a week, where players could obtain the Heart Sign emote. However, it has been quite some time since a Crimson Days event has allowed Guardians to honor one another, and the Heart Sign emote may be a casualty of this vaulting.
5Luxurious Toast
Some encounters inDestiny 2require patience, especially in Raids. For some, players might be idle and waiting for a Fireteam member to return from a bathroom break, or even wait as a Guardian joins in for the fight. In the meantime, emotes are often a way of entertainment, and the Luxurious Toast is a well-sought-after gift to pass the time due to its fancy status as a sitting emote.
With the Luxurious Toast emote, players can sit comfortably in a large chair, swirling a golden cup of their favorite drink as they patiently wait for the fight to begin. Players could pick this up from the now Sunset Spire of the Stars Raid Lair, so this one will remainin the hands ofDestiny 2veteransfor now.
4Tiny Tank
In 2021,Destiny 2released a new emote that Bungie would gift to players after a certain amount of money was donated. If players donated over $75 to the Bungie Foundation’s Giving Campaign between July 7th and July 20th of 2021, they would receive the Tiny Tank emote. Whilst not the best emote, it is certainlyone of the rarest, cutest, and most giving.
Players will use a remote control to move around a holographic tank, which will then fire a rocket that explodes into a love heart. It’s one of theDestiny 2rarest emotes, and to see one in person is quite a sight considering it’s a long-lost emote.
3Throne Of Atheon
A purchasable bundle for real money, the Throne of Atheon Emote Bundle will set players back around $15, which is probably why players rarely see the Throne of Atheon Emote in-game, as not many would want to pay with real money for a sitting emote. Nonetheless, it’s a fairly decent emote and will have players sit on a throne waiting for the action to come to them.

The Throne of Atheon emote is certainly one for the hardcoreDestiny 2fans, as Atheon was the very first Raid boss in the series and one that set many of their paths tobecoming Raid championsand world-first competitors.
2Salute Of The Lords
The controversies behindDestiny 2and Bungie’s microtransaction system continue with the Salute the Lords emote from Tess Everis’ Eververse store. Players used to be able to purchase the Iron Emote Bundle from her for 1,100 Silver, which includes the Salute of the Lords emote to show some support for the Iron Lords out there inDestiny 2.
This bundle is not available anymore and hasn’t been for a few years. At the time, it was only available during the Iron Banner tournament, but this emote seems to have been retired. It’s a shame that it was a paid item, as it’s a fairly cool emote that features the Guardian displaying the Iron Lords' emblem along with the Iron Battle Axe, a key weapon of an Iron Lord.
1Sweeping
One of the best characters inDestiny 2was the Sweeper Bot. Fans fell in love with this adorable robot, that would spend day and night sweeping the same spot in the Tower. Bungie even caught on to the fanfare surrounding the Sweeper Bot and gave it a set of characteristics as it would helplessly sweep.Things truly peaked in theDestiny 2community with the release of the Sweeping Emote.
Fans could honor their favorite Sweeper Bot with the Sweeping emote. Sadly, this is an emote that many have missed out on, as it has only been released in the Eververse store once or twice since its release in 2018. Perhaps one day, all Guardians of the Tower will be able to sweep in peace.
