Destiny 2players have called out Bungie for not delivering the weapons it advertised with its Lightfall DLC. While a few new weapons were introduced withDestiny 2’s new Neomuna location, its marketing material and artwork showed additional weapons that are still missing from the game.
Destiny 2’s Lightfall DLC couldn’t recreate Witch Queen’s success, with many players complaining about its campaign and story. Bungie tried something new with this expansion where it deliberately left many questions unanswered and planned to answer them in the seasons to follow. However, this approach didn’t sit well with fans, and many came away from Lightfall disappointed, even with the newStrand subclassto try. Now, players are asking Bungie for an update on the missing weapons is used for advertising Lightfall.

Reddit user KitsuneKamiSama pointed this out via a post on Destiny The Game subreddit, which claimed that around five advertised weapons are missing from the game. This is revealed via the artwork used for theVeil Containment Lightfall Campaign mission inDestiny 2, where a Pulse Rifle, LMG, Rocket Launcher, Sword, and a Scout Rifle are visible but not available in the game. The Pulse Rifle looks very similar to the Phyllotactic Spiral weapon, but upon close inspection it has clear differences. The only weapon that players actually acquired from this was the Epochal Integration Hand Cannon, which is awarded upon completing the Parting the Veil mission.
This isn’t the first timeDestiny 2has promised something but failed to add it. For instance, Bungie was supposed to release a new set of playlist armor every year with a new expansion, but has failed to do that with Lightfall. Players have repeatedly asked for an update on the same but Bungie is yet to respond to their concerns. Furthermore, players have urged Bungie to provide an update on its plans for theGambit game mode inDestiny 2, which has now been neglected for more than a year.
There are other lingering issues plaguing the game. For instance, a bug in theSolar subclass for Warlocks inDestiny 2is still prevalent after a year and is yet to be fixed. Additionally, the Void subclass for Warlocks is also currently bugged and isn’t providing certain benefits to players while using the Child of the Old Gods aspect. The game has also been experiencing severe server issues post Lightfall, which is another problem to solve.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
