Players may randomly receive thePrometheus LensCatalyst as a reward whenever theycomplete Heroic or Nightfall Strikes. There doesn’t appear to be any indication that a particular difficulty will increase the odds of getting thePrometheus LensCatalyst, so players should choose whichever they are most comfortable with.

Unfortunately, there’s also no guaranteeing that the player will get thePrometheus LensCatalyst specifically. There are quite a few Catalysts that drop after completing Heroic or Nightfall Strikes, like theMercilessCatalyst. Players must prepare to run through quite a few Strikes before thePrometheus LensCatalyst will drop.

Once the player receives the catalyst, they’ll want to begin the process of upgrading it. To upgrade thePrometheus LensCatalyst, players will need tokill 500 enemies using thePrometheus Lens. It doesn’t matter which enemies or where they’re killed, so any PVE farming spot will do.
It’s also important to keep in mind that these kills be accomplished retroactively. This means that if the player was getting kills with thePrometheus Lensprior to obtaining the Catalyst, those kills will count towards the 500. Because of this, players shoulduse thePrometheus Lenswhile grinding for thePrometheus LensCatalyst.
Tips For Getting ThePrometheus LensCatalyst
Given the nature of thePrometheus Lensto take out hordes of enemies, it’s a good idea to grind Strikes that lean into this advantage. The ever-popularLake Of Shadows Strikeis a solid option for quickly completing a Strike while getting many kills.
This is even a solid option after obtaining thePrometheus LensCatalyst to upgrade it. The player will burn through hundreds of enemies each run and can quickly rack up kills. That being said, players will want a solid weapon for taking down the boss, since thePrometheus Lensisn’t so great at spongy single target enemies. Anydecent Swordwill do the trick here.
