Summary
Blizzard has recently unveiled the official patch notes forDiablo 4’s Update 1.4.1, which will launch on May 28. The newDiablo 4update will fix several bugs and make some important tweaks to the game’s balancing, such as dramatically lowering the gold cost for Masterworking, potentially solving a major pet peeve gamers had with the current season.
The recent Season 4: Loot Reborn is currently being hailed by many gamers as the best season ofDiablo 4. After a lackluster Season 3, it seems that Blizzard’s action RPG has finally managed to regain the goodwill of its player base, asDiablo 4recently hit a new player milestone, achieving over 29,000 concurrent players on Steam. To keep these players happy, Blizzard is working hard to improve the state of the game.
Update 1.4.1 will be the first major update sinceDiablo 4’s Season 4 started earlier this month. The most noteworthy change to be implemented by the patch is greatly lowering the gold cost forMasterworking inDiablo 4, especially at high levels. As a comparison, the gold cost for Masterworking at Rank 12 has diminished from 10,000,000 to 2,500,000 Gold. The drop rates for Scattered Prisms also increased between 15% to 30%, depending on the World Tier difficulty, and World Bosses will now always drop from one to three of these valuable items.
Other significant changes brought by the new patch include Hellborne enemies in Helltides dealing more fire damage, the Armor Cap being displayed when hovering over a character’s Armor stats, and Masterworking materials being directly transmuted without requiring opening a Materials Cache. Apart from that, dozens of bugs were fixed, including general fixes such as stopping enemies from doing more damage than they should, problems with the game’s interface, and more. Luckily, theissue suffered by gamers who playedDiablo 4on PCand used Nvidia 4000 series GPUs was also fixed. Previously, players using these GPUs had to turn off DLSS Frame Generation for the game to work.
Diablo 4’s Season 4 will end on August 6, and it’s likely that a new season will begin then. During this time, it’s probable that Blizzard will release even more patches, tuning other aspects of the experience to makeDiablo 4by hearing the feedback from the community. A new DLC expansion called “Vessel of Hatred” is also expected sometime during 2024, but it does seem unlikely that it will be released before August.
