Unlike many other modern games,Digimon Survivedoes not featurea traditional pre-order bonus. Instead, those who purchase the game within its first month on sale will receive access to some special DLC, the highlight of which is Guilmon: a Fire Virus Type Digimon with access to a wide range of powerful attacks.

How to claim Guilmon will depend on a few different factors, such as the platform on which players purchaseDigimon Surviveand whether they end up opting for the physical or digital release. This guide will cover every permutation, as well as inform players when in the story they’ll be able to use Guilmon after downloading it.
Those who purchase a digital version ofDigimon Survivewithin its first month on sale will automatically download Guilmon together with the main game. Anyone who opts for the physical version, however, will instead receive a code inside the game’s box, which will need to be redeemed through their console’s online store. Once they’ve done so, they’ll be able to download Guilmon onto their console.
Assuming nothing goes wrong, players should then receive a message informing them that their Guilmon has been downloaded the next time they boot upDigimon Survive. In the case of digital versions, this message should be displayed the first time that players reach the game’s main menu. If it doesn’t, they may need to open up the game’s store page and trigger the download manually from the add-ons section.
When Can Players Start Using Guillmon in Digimon Survive?
As per the confirmation message, players won’t gain access totheir newly-downloaded Guilmonuntil after they have completed the Equipment tutorial. Unfortunately, reaching this part of the game can take quite a long time, with the tutorial in question not coming until the very end of the game’s prologue. For those wondering, it will take around one hour to get to this point, and, even then, there’s still one more step that’s needed.
Before players can startusing Guilmon inDigimon Survive, they’ll first need to open up the menu and select the “Receive bonus” option by pressing the Triangle (PlayStation), Y (Xbox), or X (Switch) button on their gamepad. They should then get a message informing them that they have received Guilmon, after which, they’ll be able to find a level 1 Guilmon with the rest of their team.
