With a plethora of experience playing FPS games and working onCall of Dutymaps, popular YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has some ideas for whatCall of Duty: Warzone 2should copy fromApex Legends.Call of Duty: Warzone 2was launched last November.

During a recent YouTube livestream, Dr Disrespect was playingCall of Duty: Warzone 2with his frequent duo partner ZLaner when the two discussed their battle royale lamentations. Though Dr Disrespect often drops intoCall of Duty: Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah with fellowpopular livestreamer TimTheTatman, it’s rare that he isn’t playing games with ZLaner since his move to YouTube. Dr Disrespect has been a long-timeCall of Dutyplayer and once worked on the franchise with Sledgehammer Games, but his enjoyment of the series has wavered over the years, and he’s already uninstalledModern Warfare 2from his PC.

According to Dr Disrespect,Call of Duty: Warzone 2needs to take the immense skill gap ofApex Legendsand apply it to the systems, mechanics, and features used in the Activision Blizzard battle royale. ZLaner and Dr Disrespect both agreed thatApex Legendshas a top-tier skill gap for its players, whileCall of Duty: Warzoneand its sequel are marred by skill-based matchmaking and a smaller toolkit. Giving some credit to theoriginalWarzoneexperience, ZLaner regretted the fact that pressing Y twice no longer cancels a reload, slide canceling was dropped in favor of a new mechanic, and the movement isn’t as polished in the follow-up.

Although they have their gripes withCall of Duty: Warzone 2and ideas on how to improve it, Dr Disrespect and ZLaner often team up to win battle royale matches in Al Mazrah. Activision Blizzard continues toupdateCall of Duty: Warzone 2with bug fixes, weapon adjustments, and more, which may mean that some of Dr Disrespect and ZLaner’s ideas could be implemented in the future. Given that part ofApex Legends' skill gap is the legend abilities that each character has,Call of Duty: Warzone 2may only be able to do so much in an effort to match the successful EA battle royale.

Because Dr Disrespect is developinghis own FPS with Midnight Society, currently known asDeadrop, the two-time champion may be onto something when he has recommendations for games likeCall of Duty: Warzone 2andApex Legends. While it may be difficult forCall of Duty: Warzone 2to match the skill gap ofApex Legends, the dialogue between the two popular YouTube streamers suggests that the originalWarzonewas closer to hitting the sweet spot than its sequel.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
