EAis planning to release a major IP by early next year, according to a recent investors meeting, and a lot of fans believe that this title could beStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. EA has had somewhat of an interesting relationship with the gaming community in recent years. Once, the company was seen as having too much of a focus on multiplayer titles, and while some still hold onto those beliefs, it is clear EA is looking to change how it is viewed. Recently, the company affirmed that it will continue itsfocus on single-player gaming.

EA does have some strong single-player titles lined up for early next year and beyond. With theDead Spaceremake coming out in January 2023and aBlack Panthergame stated to be in development, there are options for those who don’t enjoy the multiplayer experience. A lot of fans point to 2019’sStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderfor when EA saw a resurgence in creating single-player titles, and they’ve been wanting a sequel to the space-faring adventure ever since.

It was confirmed in an investors meeting on November 1 thatEAhas one major IP slated to come out before Jun 12, 2025. As outlined by PCGamer, there are a few reasons why this title could beStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, including multiple sources stating in the past that the sequel to the Soulslike was planned to drop in early 2023. If this is the release EA discussed in the investors meeting, the game would certainly fall under the criteria of being a major IP, as it is tied to theStar Warsuniverse and the first title proved to be a massive success for EA when it launched back in 2019.

Even whilepromotion forStar Wars Jedi: Survivorhas remained quietover the past year and there hasn’t been much revealed about the game since its announcement earlier in 2022, EA is reportedly changing up how it markets its upcoming releases. According to CEO Andrew Wilson, the company is thinking more about the “most appropriate time” to begin revealing information. This confirms previous statements from industry insider Jeff Grubb about why there might not be a hype train forStar Wars Jedi: Survivoruntil near the game’s release.

There hasn’t been any official confirmation from EA about whether this “major IP” isStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, so fans shouldn’t build up their expectations until the company reveals what it plans to release early next year. It has recently been announced thatEA has a deal to create three Marvel games, so it could even be the case that the company will show off one of those titles as the major IP discussed in the investors meeting.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris expected to launch in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
