AnElden Ringbug has recently been discovered that gives Astel a game-breaking new move. InElden Ring, there are two fights against creatures named Astel, one being a boss and the other being a mini-boss, though both fights are optional.
Astel’s boss and mini-boss fights - called Astel, Naturalborn of the Void and Astel, Stars of Darkness, respectively - are amongthe more difficult battles inElden Ring. The boss and mini-boss versions are essentially the same in terms of attacks, tactics, and strength. The insect-like creature will often teleport around the arena, and has a number of attacks that deal heavy damage.

The bug was shown on May 26 in a video posted to Reddit by RaZz1r. The video takes place during the mini-boss fight against Astel, Stars of Darkness. During the battle, Astel attacks by slamming one of its legs into the ground and generating pulses of energy, which causes a bug where the game’s graphics glitch to the point where it is very difficult to see what is happening. The video ends with the player being killed by Astel.
While bugs are pretty rare for the most part in the game,Elden Ringis no stranger to boss fight-related bugs. These can range from simply amusing to actually beneficial to the player to detrimental or - as in this case - outright game-breaking.Elden Ring’s developers, FromSoftware, tend to make a point of addressing and fixing any glitches or bugs that are brought to their attention, although, as is the case with any game, such glitches can possibly be missed.
The presence of this bug could be a sign of the beginnings of a larger problem. A bug that makes it difficult to see or play the game and can result in the player dying at times when they otherwise might not have can easily lead to frustration and outrage on the part of players. Furthermore, considering that this glitch is very similar toanother observed Astel bug, it is possible that the Astel, Stars of Darkness mini-boss fight in general has problems that need to be fixed.
On the other hand, this might not necessarily be the case. Many glitches in games only happen in certain conditions or after a certain set of actions have been taken, meaning that it is possible this particular glitch will not be a recurring problem. In addition, even if the bug is part of a larger issue with the Astel mini-boss fight, FromSoftware could be notified so that it can be fixed like withpastElden Ringglitches.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
