AnElden Ringplayer has learned a memorable lesson after mocking a sentient iron ball. The player learned that even in the most relaxed environments, they should never let their guard down and be cocky or else they’ll receive abrutal punishment inElden Ring.

The enemy in question is a gigantic iron ball, also known asthe infamous Silver Sphere, that can be found in Nostkella. This giant sentient ball of metal slowly follows the Tarnished inElden Ring, crushing whatever is in its path. While they are slow, they are the most unpredictable environmental hazards for a lot of players because they can run up slopes and also crush small obstacles. That is without mentioning the fact that they can alter their path to hit the player seeing as they are, indeed, conscious and move at their own pace.

This was a tough lesson that fellow Reddit Tarnished Chemical-Ad-7632 learned as they mocked the Silver Sphere chasing them inElden Ring. First, the player can be seen teabagging the Sphere from a safe spot that the giant iron ball couldn’t hit. The player then walks around the sphere and walks up the stairs slowly while the Silver Sphere gives chase to them. After turning on a small curve, the player continues to mockingly stand around and then proceeds to get hit by the Silver Sphere who apparently just had enough and caught them off-guard by quickly rushing toward the player and hitting them, throwing them off the staircase and making them plummet to their death.

The Reddit thread is filled with comments praising FromSoftware for giving an attitude like this to a literal ball of metal. The player could’ve easily kept trekking along but decided to stay and mock a sentient environmental hazard and, thus, paid the price with their life. Of course, the player won’t be laughing so hard as soon as they see thoserunes they worked so hard fordisappear, but it still was a worthy giggle moment for other players.

Such is the life of the Tarnished inElden Ring. The game doesn’t pull its punches and can be quite brutal at times, but it doesn’t stop being hilarious to witness how it punishes players who believe have things figured out. It only speaks about how wonderful the game really is when it comes to its community of players who bask in their defeats almost as much as they do in their victories. Still, the lesson should be learned that ingames likeElden Ringyou should never let your guard down.
