Epic Games Store – Centipede: Recharged
Retro reboots are nothing new, and this is one for theclassic arcade gameCentipede. The classic gameplay style very much remains the focus, but the visuals and controls are vastly improved over its arcade counterpart. Furthermore,Centipede: Rechargedfeatures an original score by Megan McDuffee. Every single level is playable in local-cop, and players can also collect a dozen new power-ups and complete 30 challenges. At the end of the day, though, those wanting someCentipedenostalgia won’t miss out on that for all the new features either.
Epic Games Store – Black Widow: Recharged
Joining it, obviously by the name, is another retro reboot.Black Widow: Rechargedmay be less recognizable thanCentipedeto some, but players will be defending their spider web from an attack of bugs via twin-stick shooter gameplay. Much of the same fromCentipede, like the co-op, updates, and original score, remains the same. The same challenges are even there, but one unique element is the new ability of a massive web blast that’ll help players in a pinch—obtained by gathering cash from dead bugs.
Not A Fan of Retro on Epic Games Store?
Unfortunately, anyone who isn’t a big retro fan isn’t going to really have a lot of incentive on the week of March 3. It happens, but it’s not something to fret over. Unlike abad PS Plus free game month, just as an example, fans don’t have to wait a full month for the next selection. These two games will rotate out on March 10, for something new that has yet to be revealed. If there’s any reasonable guess as to what that game is (or games are), it’s not likely retro.
Sometimes, Epic Games Store free titles share things in common, but they are never necessarily thematic. That’s to say thatmore retro games in Marchare unlikely, based on past patterns, so fans don’t have a long time to wait between these retro games and the March 10 game.
Epic Games Storeusers typically get a handful of free games every month.
