One of the likeliestStardew Valleycharacters that could appear inHaunted Chocolatieris Grandpa, especially after the recent screenshot of the game ConcernedApe posted on social media. The photo was from a scene from the beginning ofHaunted Chocolatier, showing an old man in his bed thatheavily resembled the player’s grandpa inStardew Valley. It is worth remembering that the opening scene ofHaunted Chocolatieris eerily similar to that ofStardew Valley, where players are shown Grandpa on his deathbed stating his wish for his grandchild to inherit his farm in Pelican Town.
While ConcernedApe did not comment on fan speculation after posting a photo of the opening scene ofHaunted Chocolatier, the resemblance of the old man and the opening scenes of both games is too similar for it to be a coincidence. Given the heavy combat mechanic inHaunted Chocolatier, Marlon may play a role in the Adventurer’s Guild in the town where the game is set. Marlon may even serve the same role as inStardew Valley, equipping players with weapons and giving out quests to increase their combat skills.
According to ConcernedApe,Haunted Chocolatier’s combat will not be a copy ofStardew Valley’sbut will be worked from the ground up.
