Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockouttook the world by surprise when it became a phenomenon out of the blue. The game offers fans a chance to take a break from all the overly serious titles saturating the market right now and play something that is just pure fun and goofiness. What’s more, even those that aren’t especially skilled in video games tend to do well, but there’s just enough nuance to give hardcore gamers something to work towards. Unfortunately, PC players are having this experience tarnished by aninflux of hackers using cheats to make the game unplayable, and fans are not too happy about it.
TheFall Guyssubreddit was once a very positive place, full of stories of players helping each other out or hilariously griefing each other at the end of matches, but now it is predominantly used to call out cheaters and hackers. While this is an important endeavor, it does make it a much more dreary place to visit, which is a shame considering how gleeful and aloofFall Guysis meant to be. It is somewhat strange to see cheaters in a game like this, especially considering all rewards are purely cosmetic and the method of cheating some are using removes all fun from the game even for them.

Cheating in Fall Guys
Console players may consider themselves lucky as they likely haven’t seen anyFall Guyscheaters yet, but PC players can’t go more than two games without running into one. The most common hack seen in the game is one that allows the player’s character to fly, thereby negating any obstacles they might encounter. Races can be won in an instant andsurvival rounds like Block Party or Jump Showdownare also essentially automatic wins. Some even use these hacks to sabotage others, pushing them off cliffs from above.
Though deplorable, this could potentially be considered fun for some cheaters. What is especially strange are the cases where the cheater somehow manages to instantly qualify at the start of every game. This removes their ability to actually play any of the levels and on the final rounds makes them the winner immediately regardless of what other players are doing, robbing honest gamers of a chance to have fun as well. Typically these cheaters willdress their Fall Guy in the most expensive outfit that crowns can buy, and can be easily identified by the way they erratically fly through the sky or qualify right as the round starts.
Mediatonic’s Response to Fall Guys Cheaters
Mediatonic has made several statements about cheaters over the last few weeks as the problem has gotten worse and worse. The developers want to assure fans that they are working on a fix, potentially planning toimplementFortnite’s anti-cheat system inFall Guys, but that it may take time. Unfortunately, many fans aren’t satisfied with this answer because it could mean weeks of waiting while cheaters make the game nigh unplayable. This puts Mediatonic in a difficult spot.
It seems as though reporting cheaters doesn’t amount to much, and even if one account is banned cheaters often have multiple accounts for this very reason. If the issue is going to stop, Mediatonic will need to implement some kind of defense against it within the game itself, weeding out the cheaters systematically. There’s no telling how long this will take, but until that day does comePCFall Guysplayers will simply have to put up with the cheaters. The game on PS4 is still mostly cheater free, so perhaps some PC players can simply make the switch, but this option won’t be available for everyone.
