In just a few years, the originalFalloutwill turn 30 years old. Its influence cannot be understated, and to this day, it remains one of the most influential RPGs of all time. Its atompunk aesthetic remains as striking today as it was in 1997, and combined with solid mechanics,Fallouthelped to revive the RPG genre, which was on its knees at the time. Later, Bethesda went on to purchaseFallout, which has helped grow the IP even further in the public eye. Still, there are those who are die-hards for the original Interplay titles, and many even believe thatFallout 1should be remadeentirely.
Thanks to amod from MrHuu on GBATemp, Redditor Loopuze1 was able to share some images of the originalFalloutrunning on the Nintendo 3DS. Considering the game wasn’t designed for the dual screens on the platform, it seems to work incredibly well, with the gameplay at the bottom of the screen and the UI being able to move to the top. The stylus suits the point-and-click gameplay ofFalloutgreat, too, although Loopuze1 did report that switching between left and right click with the L button was “a little clunky.“Fallouthas often had issues working on modern hardware, so this might not be a bad way for gamers to experience one of thebest isometric RPGs ever.

Because of how the mod works, players must own a legal copy of the originalFallouton PC for this to work. According to Loopuze1, the process is pretty simple, claiming players “just have to install it, copy over files from your original, legally purchased copy and you’re good to go.” Over the years, there have been someawesome mods for the originalFallout, but this one might be among the very best.
