Dream took to Twitter on Friday, July 28, to state that this is “terrible timing for major surgery.” The 23-year-old content creator did not elaborate on that cryptic message any further, thus worrying a vocal portion of his fandom. Many of Dream’s followers immediately flocked online to express their concern about theYouTuber, inquiring about his health and wishing him a quick recovery from whatever is ailing him. The influx of reactions was so overwhelming that “are you okay” and “what happened” messages written in all caps started trending on Twitter within hours of his latest social media update.
So, while it still remains to be seen if and when Dreamopens up about his health problems the way xQc recently did, his fans are currently doing their best to help him bear through this unfortunate episode. It is presently unclear whether the streamer’s health issues will have a material impact on his planned content roadmap, which is fairly inconsistent as it is, although his recent tweet does appear to imply that could be the case.
Dream’s latest YouTube video was published in early June, when the veteranMinecraftplayer announced his aforementioned intentions to walk back on his face reveal. Since then, Dream’s only content drop arrived in the form ofEverest, an R’n’B song created in collaboration with rapper Yung Gravy, which hit streaming platforms on July 27.
The US-based YouTuber is not the first content creator to be facing health issues in recent times. Back in March, 21-year-oldTwitch streamer Kyedae revealed a cancer diagnosis, having done so mere weeks after YouTuber Thick44 passed away after a long struggle with a terminal illness, aged 47. Earlier this month, YouTuber Annabelle Ham died at 22 following an epileptic seizure, with the online community also losing TikTok star Waffler69 and German bodybuilder Joesthetics since the turn of the year.
