Final Fantasy 16collector’s editions are already being scalped, as they are selling for insane prices on eBay.Final Fantasy 16comes out in just a couple of months, and gamers can choose from a variety of different editions for the game, including an expensive collector’s edition.
Thecollector’s edition ofFinal Fantasy 16offers a set of unique goodies, including a statue depicting the fight between Phoenix and Ifrit. It also comes with a cloth map of Valisthea, a special Clive Rosfield SteelBook case, a metal pin collection featuring eight Eikons, and more. Like other limited-edition packages, the supply forFinal Fantasy 16’s collector’s edition is extremely limited, and it’s already being sold for insane prices on eBay.

Most listings for the collector’s edition ofFinal Fantasy 16are selling for well over $500 on eBay, with many listings within the $500-700 range. One copy of the edition is even listed at $900, an astronomical increase over its MRP of $349.99. COnsidering how rare the Collector’s Editions are these days, interesting gamers will clearly have to shell out quite a lot of money if they want to secure the goodies contained within as most users are selling them for two or three times the standard asking price.
Limited editions going for ridiculous amounts is not an uncommon practice, asThe Last of Us Part 1’s Firefly Edition was also scalpedfor insane prices when it came out on PS5. The same is true for any piece of tech, such as the scalping situation faced by current-generation consoles and PC GPUs, and it’ll probably continue to happen for any item that cannot keep up with its demand.
Gamers not interested in the collector’s edition can check out thedeluxe edition ofFinal Fantasy 16, which also comes with the Clive Rosfield SteelBook case and cloth map of Valisthea. Fans who get the digital deluxe edition get a mini-artbook and mini-soundtrack, withFinal Fantasy 16also offering additional goodies for players who pre-order the game.
Sony recently hosted a special State of Play presentation forFinal Fantasy 16, giving users an additional 25 minutes of gameplay footage. The showcase gave players a look at the combat, the menus, and some side characters ofFinal Fantasy 16, and it seems to have been well-received by the fanbase.Final Fantasy 16climbed up the sales rankingsshortly after the State of Play event, which may have also resulted in an increased demand for the collector’s edition of the game.
