One might think making an open-world game where driving is the primary means of interaction might grow stale, but Playground Games offers a plethora of activities and challenges to keepForza Horizon 5consistently engaging and exciting. Players can acquire new vehicles in many different ways—winning races, completing accolades,Barn Finds, and others—and customize them to their heart’s content, both internally and externally. While some internal modifications will also affect a car’s appearance, its the livery editor that will drastically change what a car looks like, with players being able to create custom designs and share them with other players. ABreaking Badfan has recreated the iconic Los Pollos Hermanos truck withinForza Horizon 5. This livery for the Vandura vehicle should be instantly recognizable for those who watched the critically acclaimed show, Los Pollos Hermanos being the business serving as the front for Gustavo Fring’s drug empire. On the side of the van is the classic logo of the “chicken brothers,” along with bullet holes, referencing a certain instance where Mike Ehrmantraut had to defend himself while transporting some product.Breaking Badrecently crossed over withFar Cry 6, allowing players to dress up as Los Pollos Hermanos employees and Heisenberg himself.
This Los Pollos Hermanos van joins an already staggering amount ofBreaking Badtributes throughout video games. One fan ambitiously reconstructed scenes from the entirety ofBreaking BadusingGrand Theft Auto 5, done entirely with in-game assests and no external mods. Another fan usedMinecraft’s creative mode to build the iconic RV that Walt and Jesse throughout the show’s first couple of seasons. Despite ending nearly a decade ago,Breaking Badremains important in pop culture, continuing to bring out fans' creativity as seen here.
Considering the popularityForza Horizon 5has already attained just a week after launch, the livery community is still in its infancy. As time goes on, and players get more experience in the editor, bolder and more elaborate car skins are bound to come—that is not a slight towards this livery however. To create such an accurate recreation of the Los Pollos Hermanos truck in such little time is astonishing, and one can imagine what they will go on to produce if they continue designing.
