Frozen,Princess and the Frog,Tangled, andTarzanlive-action remakes may be in the works atDisney.

No formal announcement has come out yet, but an online rumor has surfaced thatDisneyplans to remake four movies regarded as classics by their fans. However, the original animated films aren’t quite as old nor as popular as some other films they have remade, likeCinderella,The Lion King, andAladdin.

While giving the latest updates on other remakes,The DisInsiderreported that those four animated movies had been floated as the nextDisney live-action remakesto be greenlit. “There are also remakes in development forPrincess and the Frog, Tangled,Frozen, andTarzan,” the outlet wrote.“While there have been tons of rumors floating around regarding who Disney has as their top choice for these films, sources have told us that none of that is true, and these are very much in early development.”

Disney currently has three live-action movies based on their animated movies slated for release over the next two years:Snow White,Mufasa: The Lion King, andMoana. After them, Disney has multiple live-action remakes in development, likeLilo & Stitch,Hercules,Bambi,The Sword in the Stone,Robin Hood,The Aristocrats, andThe Hunchback of Notre Dame. Disney is churning these movies out so fast that even some of themore obscure Disney moviesfrom eons ago are getting live-action adaptations, so it is no surprise that they are remaking films barely old enough for fans to consider them nostalgic.

Given the pattern of releasing animated movies that came out decades ago,TarzanandLilo and Stitchare getting remakes. Enough time has passed that the children who grew up with those movies are old enough to have their own children old enough to watch them. ButMoanaandTangled? Who are these movies for? The kids who grew up in those movies are in high school or college. Those movies aren’t nearly old enough for people to be nostalgic for a live-action adaptation.

However, the silver lining here is that fanbases have been privileged to see revered material get quality live-action adaptations despite this stigma of them being lazy, unoriginal cash grabs, like Netflix’sOne Piece. Of course, Disney’s live-action remakes have steadily declined in quality since they first started doing this in 2014. Some remakes have been given more effort than others, but fans will never give these the same amount of respect as their animated predecessors. Unless, of course, they add some new flavor to the material.

Princess and the Frog,Tangled,Frozen, andTarzancan all be streamed on Disney Plus.
