It’s Thanksgiving Day week in the United States, a traditional holiday focused on giving thanks and celebrating the year’s harvest. ForNintendo Switchplayers, it’s an opportunity for a harvest of a different kind. Nintendo historically doesn’t lower prices on exclusive games outside of rare sales events. Black Friday is one such annual sales event, andSwitchusers are already looking for deals. With days left until Black Friday, it’s looking like GameStop is the retailer to watch.

GameStop has updated its game discounts forBlack Fridayand nine different Nintendo Switch exclusives have been discounted to a stunning price of $26.99. That’s a price that Switch players are unlikely to find at any other retailers for Black Friday. Even Nintendo’s own official sale, and official sales from retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, have these same games priced at $39.99 or higher. Many of the games are also available used for a slightly lower price of $24.99.

The games included in GameStop’s sale includeThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe,Kirby Star Allies,Fire Emblem: Three Houses,Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition,Paper Mario: The Origami King,Splatoon 2,Astral Chain, andMonster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Suffice to say, there are some of the Nintendo Switch’s best games included in the sale, but none of the platform’s most recent releases or its most protected, likeSuper Mario Odyssey,Pokemon Sword and Shield, orAnimal Crossing: New Horizon.

Regardless, for new Nintendo Switch owners or older Switch users looking to fill out their library of games, GameStop’s sale is an excellent opportunity. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis the top-rated game released on the Nintendo Switch, and bothXenoblade Chronicles: Definitive EditionandFire Emblem: Three Housesare both highly rated, as well. All nine games are considered solid options depending on what Switch players want, of course.

Why GameStop chose these nine Nintendo Switch games to put on sale for Black Friday is quite the mystery, though. Other retailers, as noted, have these games listed as $39.99 for the holiday. They also have other games at that price, too, includingSuper Mario Maker 2andThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Perhaps GameStop has an abundance of these specific games.

As previously mentioned, it’s unlikely that theseNintendo Switch gameswill be discounted beyond $26.99 this Black Friday. Nintendo games are rarely heavily discounted, so seeing a big discount like what GameStop is offering at all is a surprise. The discountedNintendo Switchgames are available to purchase now, but could potentially sell out any time.
