The officialGenshin Impactsocial media accounts have already revealed that the upcoming update 2.4 will bring two brand new characters. New additions to the character roster always create tons of hype for each new update.
Developer miHoYo has been introducing banner re-runs very frequently to the world ofGenshin Impact, and it seems as though every update consists of two banners, a new character, and a re-run. Previous leaks and rumors have revealed pretty much all of the content players will face in the upcoming update.

A recent leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed some additional information about the two upcoming banners. Apparently, the first banner will bring two five-star characters which are Shenhe and Xiao. Shenhe is confirmed to been confirmed to be a brandnew Cryo polearm character. There is still no information about the second banner but previous leaks have been hinting that it could include Zhongli or Ganyu.
Update2.3 was the first to introduce thedouble banner re-run mechanic, which means that players had the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. It included two fan-favorite characters Albedo and Eula. Making two limited characters available for one banner cycle is miHoYo’s way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a certain banner cycle. However, the upcoming double banner will apparently combine a re-run with a new character.
Even though most players were expecting Shenhe to be a DPS character, she will apparently be best suited for the support orsub-DPS role. She was expected to arrive alongside another polearm character, Yun Jin. Even though both of them were announced at the same time, there is no official information on whether they will be featured on the same banner. Yun Jin will be a strong Geo support character and a great fit for the famous Geo party that has become meta after the recently released Geo characters.
Since his release, Xiao has certainly become one of the most popularGenshin impactcharacters and he is considered as one of the strongest DPS characters in the game alongside Eula and Ganyu. While other DPS characters like Diluc or Hu Tao can’t exist in a vacuum and require some of thestrongest supports in the gameto apply Elemental reactions, Xiao can work independently in dishing out tons of damage.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
