A couple of recentGenshin Impactleaks suggest that two new regions could arrive in the upcoming update 3.6. Back in 3.0, developer HoYoverse introduced a new major region named Sumeru which received a couple of different expansions since then. Even the ongoing version 3.4 added a new Sumeru desert placed in the northern part of the nation.
The addition of a new region is usually the focal point of everyGenshin Impactupdate as many players look forward to exploring another part of the world of Teyvat. After a number of different Sumeru expansions, it seems as though players could head back to one of the game’s first regions.

Over the last couple of days, several popular leakers have revealed thatGenshin Impactupdate 3.6will bring two large expansions tied with Liyue and Sumeru. Some players suspect that it could be just one expansion that is connected to both of these popular nations. A new post on the popularGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit suggests that 3.6 will introduce a new desert area, Chenyu Vale, and a divine tree in Liyue. Apart from Liyue, each of the three remaining nations that are explorable has a special tree that plays a significant role in the region’s lore. Chenyu Vale is a place in Liyue that is mentioned in the Echoes of the Offering Artifact set, and it apparently consists of multiple mountains and streams.
This artifact set also mentions that theGeo nation has another port besides Liyue Harbor, which could appear in future expansions. Many players suspect that this port is placed in the western part of the region it could also be connected to the next major region Fontaine which would make sense as the Hydro nation is expected to consist of lakes, rivers, and waterfalls.
Some fans expect that this expansion could serve as a bridge between Liyue and Fontaine, especially considering the recent rumors which have been hinting that Fontaine is placed north of the Sumeru region. While there is still not a lot of official information about Fontaine, recentGenshin Impactleaks have revealed the models of 10 different playable charactersthat are tied to this region.
According to a credibleGenshin Impactleaker named merlin_impact,HoYoverse could introduce a new Mondstadt expansionbefore Fontaine’s arrival. The new part of Mondstadt would be located in the northern part of the map, and it could finally introduce some of the nation’s legendary characters like Varka or Alice.
