AGenshin Impactplayer has pointed out an interesting detail about the game’s swords that many players might have missed. At the moment, there are only five types of weapons in the game: swords, claymores, catalysts, bows, and polearms. Fans are hoping to see a new type in the future but HoYoverse is yet to reveal official information on the matter.
Weapons are artifact sets are the two most important parts of every character’s build inGenshin Impact. However, unlike artifacts that have numerous RNG layers in their stats, every weapon in the game has permanent stats defined by its level and refinements. Weapons can also have different rarity levels with five-star items being usually the most powerful ones.

A Reddit user by the name Zonnebloempje has posted two in-game screenshots that compare the sword sizes when used by different characters. The post proves that the size of the sword actually changes depending on which character it’s used by.Genshin Impact’s character modelscan be divided into six categories: tall, medium, and short for both male and female characters. The screenshots reveal that the sword Fillet Blade looks considerably smaller when equipped by Qiqi than the one that is used by the Hydro user Kamisato Ayato. According to the comment section, the same goes for other weapon types as well.
Some fans have pointed out that this change is especially obvious when smaller characters like Sayu or Dori pose with their claymore which is the largest weapon in the game. The weapon used for comparison, Fillet Blade, is one of thebest three-star weapons inGenshin Impactas it provides ATK on the secondary stat. Its passive effect grants the weapon holder a 50% chance to deal 240% ATK damage to a single opponent.
The two characters, Qiqi and Ayato, are bothfive-starGenshin Impactcharacters. While Qiqi is a permanent member of the Standard Banner, Ayato is a limited character who can only be obtained when featured on the Limited Character Banner. Ayato probably won’t receive any re-runs anytime soon considering that he was featured back in the second part of update 3.3 alongside Raiden Shogun.
