Following the water’s flow and searching for the source of the foul energy is a part of the Dimming Mushroom’s Call for Help Quest inGenshin Impact. It involves a gigantic growing mushroom named Xamaran, which is said to hail from Sumeru, the land of Dendro inGenshin Impact. However, somehow, it ended upthriving in the Underground Chasm. Unfortunately, Xamaran senses foul energy growing in the area lately. Because of this, the glowing mushroom is now dimming and is seeking help from the Travelers.
Xamaran can be found in the Glowing Narrows, southwest of the Underground Chasm. As players reach the area, theGenshin ImpactWorld Quest will triggeron its own, where Paimon and the Traveler hear a sound that calls for them.

How to Follow the Water’s Flow and Search for the Source of the Foul Energy in Genshin Impact
In the Dimming Mushroom’s Call for HelpGenshin ImpactQuest, at one point, players have to follow the water’s flow and search for the source of the foul energy. There will be no indicator for this task, so Travelers have to do as told and follow the water’s flow.
Follow the water’s stream to the north until Travelers reach the orange area. Paimon will make a remark once players arrive at the spot.
In the distance, there should be a Pyro Abyss Mage around an Oozing Concretion.
Once the players come close to the enemy, Electro and Hydro Abyss Mages will also appear. People have to ensure they bring the correct characters in the party to counter it. Here are the best Elements for each Abyss Mage:
Travelers can also use neutral Elements like Geo and Anemo to handle all kinds of shields. However, it will take longer to break the Abyss Mages' protection.
Once the enemies are defeated, use the Lumenstone Adjuvant to destroy the Oozing Concretion. Then, use theBlessings of Wisdomgiven by Xamaran on the same spot.
A mushroom will sprout from the ground, completely removing theGenshin ImpactDark Mud. Next to it, a Precious Chest will spawn.
After following the water’s flow and searching for the source of the foul energy, go back to Xamaran and talk to it. This will end the Dimming Mushroom’s Call For Help Questline.
