On their journey inGenshin Impact, Traveler will meet a cheerful lady, Yoimiya. She’s the owner of a famed firework shop in Inazuma. The place is so famous that they even got orders from other regions. Of course, this fame doesn’t come out of thin air. Naganohara Fireworks is known for its excellence in creating a show that brings back memories. After each purchase, the Naganohara provides a paper slip to make an identical firework in the future. Even several years later, people can see the exact same colors and explosions.

However, it’s not just fireworks that need excellent concoctions. Yoimiya’s team needs to be composed to perfection, too.
Updated June 11, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah:After the underwhelming release of the Owner of Naganohara Fireworks, some new characters made it to theGenshin Impactscene that can enhance Yoimiya’s performance. Whether operating as a Sub-DPS or a pure Support, these units made Yoimiya a viable Main DPS again into the Meta. It is safer now for Yoimiya havers to dive into the Spiral Abyss and finish its content with the Fireworks princess. For those reasons, it was only logical to dive back here and help players buildYoimiya’s best team compositionsby updating the article.
Yelan
Since their kit is similar, players often compare Yelan and Xingqiu in their respective positions. To be fair, both of them occupy the same positions, so in most team compositions, one of them will always end up taking that spot rather than both of them.
While Xingqiu offers more defensive utilities, Yelan enhances Yoimiya’s performance by buffing her DMG up to 50% through her 4th Ascension passive. It is a crucial buff that distinct and gives Yelan her own Supportive identity. Unfortunately, in Yoimiya’s team compositions, that buff complicates the rotations, since players want to fully benefit from Yelan’s buff. What players can do in this situation is to delay the rotation up to 4 to 5 seconds before activating Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill and going berserk.
Xingqiu
The most demandedSupporting unit inGenshin Impactis the one and only, Xingqiu. This Hydro Sub-DPS simply works with everyone under most circumstances. Xingqiu’s Hydro application, while it doesn’t have a wide range of AoE, makes it up with its unparalleled consistency.
In Yoimiya’s Case, her Elemental Skill state lasts half the duration of Xingqiu’s Rainswords. So players have a big window of forgiving rotation.
Yun Jin
The Introduction of Yun Jin changed manycharacters' performances inGenshin Impact, including Yoimiya. Yun Jin is a very simple character, give her DEF% and enough Energy Recharge, and she will significantly enhance any unit that depends on Normal Attacks to deal damage.
With Yoimiya however, players have to make sure that Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill is ready before rotating with Yun Jin, or else her buff will go to waste. On C6, Yun Jin will also improve Yoimiya’s ATK SPD, which will take her DPS to the next level.
Raiden Shogun
Raiden Shogun, also known as Beelzebul, or the Electro Archon, is a character released inGenshin Impact2.1.Raiden’s whole kit revolves around supporting, with a brief Sub-DPS potential when her Elemental Burst is active.
When the Electro Archon uses her Elemental Skill, it summons an Eye of Stormy Judgment. This eye will buff the active character’s Elemental Burst damage while dealing AOE Electro damage every 0.9s. Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst is not the best when it comes to damage, so Raiden’s buff would be a great addition.
Fischl
Another thing about Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst is that it only triggers when a teammate attacks the enemy. This means, that to utilize the Firework Queen’s Burst, players either have to swap Yoimiya out or have an off-field damage dealer. Raiden Shogun can do this job with her Elemental Skill, but a 5-star character is not easily accessible.

Therefore, Fischl is a great alternative to the Electro Archon. Her familiar, Oz, will periodically deal Electro damagewithout Fischl having to be active. Fischl can also make a decent Physical DPS when Yoimiya is unavailable.
Beidou
When her Elemental Burst is active, Beidou becomes an amazing Sub-DPS with several characters. For example, with Childe,Beidou can grant endless Electro-Charged, an Elemental Reaction that jumps between enemies affected by Hydro and Electro.
With Yoimiya, the Pirate Captain offers easy access to Overload. Overload is created when Electro and Pyro meet. The reaction throws enemies in a small explosion while dealing great damage. Among the Transformative Reactions, Overload deals the highest damage. However, it only scales with the trigger’s Elemental Mastery and is unaffected by their attack or Critical stats.
Zhongli
Zhongli has come a long wayfrom the initial outrage of his release. Previously, he’s deemed underwhelming for this lack of damage. However, after the Geo buff came, Zhongli’s (and other Geo characters) performance skyrocketed, and he’s now a major part of the meta.
The Geo Archon provides an amazing shield that can block pretty much any damage in the game. This shield has a 100% uptime with a handy resistance reduction on the enemies. Furthermore, if Zhongli is using the 4-Tenacity of the Millelith, he can also continuously buff Yoimiya’s attack.
Albedo
Albedo is one of thebest Sub-DPS inGenshin Impact. The Chief Alchemist can easily deal more than 10k off-field Geo damage every 2s.
The best part about him is that he’s easy to build. First, one of his best weapons is a 3-star sword. Second, Albedo’s damage scales with defense. Players would have gotten a lot of trash defense artifacts when farming. But one man’s trash is Albedo’s treasure.
Not only great off-field damage but Albedo can also provide Elemental Shards for shielding, Elemental Mastery bonus, and of course, his damage will trigger Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst.
Thoma
Yoimiya may be a decent damage dealer, but she’s also extremely squishy. So she needs protection when she’s on the field. Furthermore, for Yoimiya to deal the most DPS, she needs tofinish her Normal Attack sequence. If she’s interrupted, then her Normal Attack will start from the first hit.

This is why shielders are crucial for the Firework Queen. With Thoma, Yoimiya will get protection, resistance to interruption, off-field damage dealer, and, of course, Pyro resonance. This resonance increases the whole team’s attack by 25%.
Bennett
Bennett is undeniably overused. Of course, that’s not a bad thing considering how overpowered he is. The Leader of Benny’s Adventure Team can heal, cleanse, and grant attack buffs. Like Thoma, Bennett can also activate Pyro resonance with Yoimiya.
Although Bennett doesn’t have off-field damage, he’s still useful for Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst. The Summer Queen’s best-in-slot artifact is the Shimenawa Reminiscence. This artifact takes away the character’s Energy for a large damage buff. This means Yoimiya will rarely have her Burst ready.Bennett generates a decent amount of Elemental Particleswith his Skill, making him a perfect battery for Pyro units.
Venti
Venti may be the best character to Crowd Control small enemies, but he’s not the best for all characters. When paired with a melee DPS, the Anemo Archon’s Elemental Burst will keep enemies floating in the air, out of the melee character’s reach. Luckily, Yoimiya is a ranged unit, so it’s no issue for her.
The Anemo archer can help Yoimiya greatly. First,Venti will reduce the enemy’s Elemental resistancewith 4-Viridescent Venerer. Second, Venti will trigger Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst. And most importantly, if Pyro infusion occurs, the Archon refunds 15 Energy back to Pyro units, allowing Yoimiya to use her Elemental Burst more often.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
