TheGod of Warseries has taken players across ancient worlds and mythical lands throughout its games. It is a series that has given players an intense history of both Greek and Norse mythology. The most recent title, 2018’sGod of War, brought players into contact with famous Norse figures and had an impressive aesthetic. As a tribute to both of these ties in the series, oneGod of Warfan decided to make a themed engraving on their custom PS4 pro cover.
God of Warbegan as a series in 2005and brought Kratos into conflict with a number of Greek gods. Throughout this era of the franchise players were able to meet and often battle against major figures in the mythological hierarchy. This era transitioned in 2018 to a more Norse focus. Both mythological systems contain symbols and designs such as runes and letters that are relatively recognizable to this day.

U/theLeadFarfel shared their combination design on their custom PS4 pro cover. They share that the border is a Greek meander banding and the connection to the early games in the franchise. This design is also known as the Greek key design and are common decorative elements in both Greek and Roman artwork and architecture. At each corner on the cover rests a singular Norse rune that, when combined, spells out the nameLoki, a famous Norse God know for his trickery. The designer of this cover even shares a direct link to the png file of the design on the post for anyone interested in adopting it themselves.
TheGod of Warseries continues to inspireits community with interesting forays into mythical worlds and this is just the latest impressive tribute. At its core, the design that u/theLeadFarfel created and laser engraved on their PS4 Pro cover is beautiful. But, to then share the design openly with the community, takes this post to a whole new level.
Though laser engraving is certainly not within the reach of all, this design is still an impressive creation. And, with the mix of both Greek and Norse elements, it remains a great tribute to the entire series.God of Wardoesn’t seem done with Norse mythologyand so this creation will likely continue to remain relevant for years to come.
The only drawback for this design is that it is likely not useable for manyGod of Warfans. Laser engraving can be an expensive hobby because of the required technology. But that shouldn’t take anything away from u/theLeadFarfel’s impressive design and that shows in the community’s positive response to the post.
