GTA Onlinefans recently got excited at the idea of Rockstar Games potentially teasingGrand Theft Auto 6in its game through a hidden message. However, recent evidence seems to indicate that it’s unlikely thatGTA Onlinedevs intended to shake up the gamein this way.
GTA Onlinejust underwent a major update, adding new missions, vehicles, quality of life improvements, and many other things. One of these additions was a new shirt that was promptly removed shortly after being discovered. While the shirt didn’t look particularly interesting, fans discovered prior to its removal that a series of numbers on the shirt could be decoded to reveal a message: “ONEDAYWILLREVEALALL.” With Rockstar promptly removing the shirt, speculation ran wild that it was a teaser tied toGTA 6, but now it seems that is an unlikely assumption.

Now, dataminers have discovered morehidden messages inGTA Online, this time containing numbers that decode to “Connect the Lines” and “We are Watching.” The textures also contain references to UFOs, likely further distancing them fromGTA 6. The leading theory at this point is that these images and the shirt are likely connected to some kind of planned alien event inGTA Online, which has been a recurring theme over the years. Last Halloween, in particular, featured an alien invasion of sorts that saw UFOs pop up all over the city and interfere with players' day-to-day in-game activities. Rockstar Games may have included these files to prep for such an event for 2023 and mistakenly set to the shirt to be available immediately upon the update’s release.
However, there are still some who are holding onto hope that it’s somehow all connected toGrand Theft Auto 6. An image in theGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition’s release contains a UFO and an unidentified house, which made some wonder if Rockstar Games had snuck in an image fromGTA 6as a teaser. While nothing official has been announced, this latestGTA Onlinecontent has reinvigorated that theory somewhat. That said, there’s no solid evidence that either reference toUFOs are connected toGTA6.
For now, there’s not much fans can do other than wait to see when (or if) these files are implemented. Many fans are more than ready to get their first look atGTA 6as the fifth game is approaching its tenth anniversary. Chances are that after theGTA 6leak, however, Rockstar Games will be more tight-lipped than ever regarding the game’s inevitable release.
GTA Onlineis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
