AHalo Infiniteleak has revealed voice lines for an upcoming Infection game type. It is a relief for many fans to seeHalo Infinitefinally add the iconic game type to its selection.
WhenHalo Infinite wasfirst released in 2021, it received a mixed reception from fans, as it was missing many features that had become franchise staples. One notable exclusion was Forge mode, which finally arrived in November 2022. The response to the developer became so negative thatXbox head Phil Spencer had to release a statement reaffirming 343 Industries' importance toHalogoing forwardafter rumors suggested it would no longer helm the franchise. It would be a staggering change in direction, given 343 Industries was created for the sole purpose of taking over theHalofranchise.

A new leak comes from the Halo Leaks YouTube channel, showing off voice lines for the currently unreleased Infection game type. The footage features Jeff Steitzer’s iconic announcer, who has narrated the multiplayer ever since 2001’sHalo Combat Evolved. As well as this, there are voice lines from the Banished’s Iratus, suggesting the Infection announcer may change depending on the player’s team. This is backed up by anearlier leak ofHalo Infinite’s Season 3 Alpha build, which suggested there would be a huge focus on Infection in 2023, with Iratus featuring.
Infection has been a huge part of the series ever sinceHalo 3and has remained a staple ever since. The mode is key to many custom games and maps, which is a big part of the reason players continue to playHalogames years after their release. Such is the demand for the mode, thatplayers have already created Infection usingHalo Infinite’s Forge. Despite this, having an official version voiced by Jeff Steitzer will massively improve the experience for players. It’s currently unclear exactly when the mode will be coming toHalo Infinite, but players will be hoping it’s sooner rather than later.
For the first time since Bungie moved on from the franchise, the future ofHalois unclear. Current rumors suggest thatHalo Infinitemay have canceled plans for new story content, although the multiplayer continues to receive frequent updates. The game was initially given a 10-year plan, but this seems unlikely given its current issues. It would take a huge course correction for players to flock back to the game now, however, updates like the return of Infection definitely giveHalo Infinitethe best possible chance.
Halo Infiniteis available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
