A recent TikTok video uploaded by the official Wizarding World account showcases some of the locations thatHogwarts Legacyplayers will get to explore when the open world action-RPG launches in February. One of the big reasons why there’s so much hype behindHogwarts Legacyis because of its open world setting, giving players the opportunity fully explore Hogwarts castle and the surrounding areas.
Hogwarts Legacygameplay showcasesand trailers have given fans a pretty clear idea of where they will be able to go in the game, but with so much promotional material released over the last couple of years, some may have difficulty keeping it all straight. The new video from the Wizarding World TikTok does not provide a comprehensive overview of all the areas thatHogwarts Legacyplayers will get to explore come launch, but it does highlight some areas that may especially be of interest toHarry Potterfans.

The video starts off by showing the owlery, where Hogwarts students go to send letters to their friends and family back home. It then transitions to theHogwarts grounds, with the player character jumping on a broom to better explore the area. Flying over the grounds, they wind up in a small hamlet, which players can move about freely.
There are multiple hamlets near Hogwarts castle that players can explore, but there’s also Hogsmeade, which will prove to be a far more important and frequently-visited location forHogwarts Legacyplayers when the game launches next month. Players will be able to visit Hogsmeade inHogwarts Legacyto make purchases at shops and complete other tasks like upgrading their broom. There’s aPlayStation exclusive quest set in Hogsmeadeas well that has more of a horror vibe than the rest of the game, but it’s likely that there are secrets hiding in the small village for players on all platforms to find.
The video wraps up by showcasing two other important areas inHogwarts Legacy: the Room of Requirement and the Vivarium.The Room of Requirementwill act as a sort of home base for the player character inHogwarts Legacy, with players able to customize it to a certain extent. The Vivarium, meanwhile, is whereHogwarts Legacyplayers can go to interact with various magical beasts that they encounter on their adventure.
WithHogwarts Legacybeing an open world game, there should be many more interesting locations for players to visit while attending school at Hogwarts. It’s been a dream of manyHarry Potterfans to be able to freelyexplore Hogwarts castle, and soon that dream will become a reality, as theHogwarts Legacyrelease date is right around the corner.
Hogwarts Legacylaunches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4, and a Switch release dropping July 25.
